Jason Russell, KONY 2012 Filmmaker, Addresses Naked Meltdown and Gay Rumors With Oprah Winfrey

NY Daily News -                                                SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO BELOW

Seven months after he became a household name, Jason Russell is hoping to be a viral sensation once again – preferably with his clothes on this time.

After shooting to fame with the release of his film “Kony 2012” in March, which racked up 100 million YouTube views in less than a week, Russell eclipsed his own project just 10 days later when a video of his naked meltdown on a San Diego street corner exploded online. (Click here to see that video)

Now the controversial filmmaker is back with a new movie about the Ugandan warlord Joseph Kony, and he wants to set the record straight about his former flameout.

“It’s hard to explain if people have never had an out of body experience, but it really wasn’t me,” he told Oprah of his meltdown, in an interview for “Oprah’s Next Chapter” that aired on Sunday. “That wasn’t me, that person on the street corner ranting and raving and naked, is not me. That’s not who I am.”

Russell says the wild success of the video led him to feel intense pressure that caused him to break down.

“My mind couldn’t stop thinking about the future. I literally thought I was responsible for the future of humanity,” he told the “Today” show on Monday. “It started to go into a point where my mind finally turned against me and there was a moment where, click, I was not in control of my mind or my body.”

Though he says he only remembers a few details of his dramatic public episode, Russell believes he was trying to hitch a ride.

“I thought, ‘I have to get to New York in the next 12 hours.’ That’s what I thought,” he told Oprah. “’Because I have to stop the war.’ So I ran out to the front and I think I was trying to ask cars to take me to the airport. In my underwear.”

Russell says he has no idea why he was naked.

“It was just very out of control,” he told Oprah, showing her that he pounded his hands on the street so hard he actually dented his wedding ring. “I look at that video and I think, how sad for him.”

When asked if he was gay, he said he was simply “theatrical” and denied rumors that he had performed a lewd act during his meltdown.

“There were rumors of masturbation, but no one who was there ever said that that was happening,” he told Oprah, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m naked so it’s not a far extension of imagination that that would be happening but, no, I don’t remember any of that, and no one we knew there said that I was. I don’t remember anything except like a half-second. I don’t.”

Russell was later diagnosed as having a psychotic breakdown that caused temporary insanity, and says he has been doing yoga and therapy to recover.

“It’s hard for my wife to even talk about it still because it was so scary and traumatizing,”he told the Today show.

He says he’s going to be more watchful of his health this time around, as he promotes Invisible Children’s new film “Move,” which made its YouTube debut on Sunday. The film, which promises a behind-the-scenes look at KONY 2012, asks supporters to march against Joseph Kony on Washington on November 17.

“I don’t think anything can compete with the perfect storm of KONY 2012,” he said, “but we do hope that millions of people do see this next film and know that we’re still committed.”

What do you think? Is he being honest or doing his best to cover up a completely embarrassing story that may have impacted his KONY 2012 campaign of sorts. It’s hard to know because, as he said himself, he’s “theatrical”:

Hollywood Reporter - When Winfrey asked the married filmmaker about rumors he’s gay (“that you were running in the streets nude because you were gay”), he laughed, saying: “I grew up in theater, my parents started a large children’s theater organization, so I am animated, I am … theatrical. That’s me by nature. So when you take me, times it by ten … .”

Jason Russell: Why the Kony 2012 Phenomenon Was Like a Tsunami

Within 24 hours of its release online, the Invisible Children documentary Kony 2012 had more than a million views. In a week, it reached 100 million. Filmmaker Jason Russell says that what started as a wave became a tsunami. Watch as he explains what was going through his mind when the film became a phenomenon.

[VIDEO] Anti-Gay Chick-Fil-A Needs To Cluck Off

o-CHICK-FIL-A-SIGN-570

FCKH8.com has released a video that is encouraging people to take a stand against the homophobic Chick-Fil-A, yet, are worried it may get removed.

Yesterday FCKH8.com received a legal notice from Facebook saying that the Chick-Fil-A legal team has forced them to pull this protest video from Facebook because it used their logo. Use of a copyrighted logo in criticism, commentary, review or news is legally protected free speech. Chick-Fil-A is trying silence protests of their homophobic positions. They may try to get this video pulled from YouTube and Vimeo as well. Share it on Facebook or copy it (from our Vimeo page) & reupload the video to your YouTube or Vimeo account.

This chain has openly encouraged homophobia and refused to acknowledge that their beliefs are outdated and reminiscent of the 1960′s. Boston, Massachusetts Mayor, Tom Menino, has even banned the restaurant from their city to show how they will not support this message of hate. Another big proponent to come out and publicly shame Chick-Fil-A has been the Jim Henson Company, by no longer partnering The Muppets with the gay hating, religious loving, fast food chain.

American Family Association‘s Bryan Fischer is the man who is standing up in support of Chick-Fil-A and their right to discriminate or belittle the homosexual community.

“The bullies at Big Gay have targeted the ‘Eat Mor Chikin‘ chain because its president, Dan Cathy, has taken an unapologetic public stand on behalf of natural marriage, and rebuked this generation for its “arrogance” in thinking that it knows better than God when it comes to the definition of marriage,” Fischer wrote. “And so the heterophobic bigots at Big Gay have come unhinged and unleashed the dogs of war.”

War? I’m not the one going into OTHER countries and forcing democracy and taking what’s not mine. I am simply asked to be treated as a decent human being who will not be judged based on their sexuality. I don’t want someone with money, influence and power to take advantage and sway others into fucking logic and being ignorant. In the bible there are many ways which show what “natural marriage” is and I can guarantee that we do not live our lives like that today. Jon Stewart read out some bible versus the other night on ‘The Daily Show‘ that I thought were perfect examples:

Thursday 4Play: Things That Made Me Giggle Today

I don’t know why but these photos made me laugh.

[VIDEO] The Real America: Terrorists in The Eyes of The World

Screen shot 2012-03-30 at 2.18.06 PM

I don’t care about the consequences of people knowing how I feel about this video and the atrocities committed by some Americans. This video highlights how our actions are affecting those around the world and how our soldiers seem to be completely detached from any emotions. I am not in any way blaming this on all military persons, but the government’s decision to go to war with other countries only to put more money into their greedy pockets and drain the already poor countries resources is sickening. Some of those soldiers over there are good men and women, but there are also some who are not and take advantage of the situation that they’ve been put into (I’m referring to the soldier killing 17 civilians and the soldier throwing a puppy).

We don’t have freedom, what we have is the appearance of freedom. Everyday we are being stripped of our rights and being prepped for a government takeover. I’m not saying this will happen now or even in 100 years, but the way we are handling ourselves as a country is not the America I had read so much about, as a child. The price of gas is going up, foreclosures and bank owned properties are almost all that’s left in the real estate market, we could be arrested if the government has “probable cause” and never have to be tried by a jury and held for as long as they insist, and most recently, Obama signed a bill that stated his administration could take control of our food, energy, water, etc.

This video highlights many things that we may have known, may have not wanted to know, or were too unaware to know, but either way, this is the truth. People see America in a way that we cannot. Our media is controlled and we are only shown so much (freedom?) and able to form unintelligent decisions. I am heartbroken at knowing the state of our country, economy and reputation. Is this the American Dream?

Kony 2012: State Propaganda For A New Generation | Vigilantcitizen

Many people have read many opposing facts about Joseph Kony, Invisible Children and the Kony 2012 campaign. I must admit that I feel the most accurate article that addresses most of these controversies was posted by Vigilantcitizen.com.

Like the video states, it was an experiment. Sadly, most people (including myself in the beginning) jumped on the bandwagon and believed that this video was an experiment that would see whether people would stand up against something bad and do something about it. So, what did they do? The did something: posted the video, signed the petition, ordered the kit, and donated funds to an organization they knew nothing about. What did they NOT do? Research the organization, investigate Joseph Kony, and sat back thinking they made an impact because of the fact that they did one of the actions I mentioned above.

My belief, is that the experiment was actually to see whether people would repost, donate and get involved without doing anything other than watching the video. Why was this done? To prove that people shared what was trending despite the facts. And if that wasn’t why, that was at the very least, the outcome.

Vigilant Citizen:

The overnight viral sensation KONY 2012 brought worldwide awareness to the African war criminal Joseph Kony. Beneath this commendable cause, lies however an elaborate agenda that is presented in the video in a very manipulative way. We’ll look at the agenda behind KONY 2012 and how it uses reverse psychology to not only justify a military operation in Africa, but to actually have people demand it.

KONY 2012 is a viral sensation that swept the entire world in less than 24 hours. Its main subject is the African rebel leader Joseph Kony, his war crimes and the clearly defined “movement” to stop him.  Countless celebrities have endorsed the movement, news sources have reported it and social media is buzzing with it. While the problem of guerrilla warfare and child soldiers has plagued Africa for decades, and several documentaries have already been produced regarding the issue, this particular 29-minute video made managed to obtain mass exposure and support.

KONY 2012 is less of a documentary than it is a highly efficient infomercial that is tailor-made for the Facebook generation, using state-of-the-art marketing techniques to make its point. Young people like “underground movements” and want to feel like they are changing the world. KONY 2012 taps into these needs to bring about something that is not “hip” or “underground” at all: A military operation in Uganda. Not only that, it urges the participants of the movement to order stuff, to wear bracelets that are associated with an online profile and to record their actions in social media. This makes KONY 2012 the first artificially created movement that is fully track-able, monitor-able and quantifiable by those who engendered it. In other words, what appears to be a movement “from the people” is actually a new way for the elite to advance its agenda.

A Propaganda Experiment

The video begins with an interesting statement: “The next 27 minutes are an experiment. But in order for it to work, you have to pay attention”. It is an experiment as it tests a new, groundbreaking way to get an agenda accepted by the Facebook generation. In the past, when the government needed to justify the invasion of a country, the President would sit in front of the camera and tell the public why war should be declared in this area of the world. In the case of KONY, the military agenda is disguised as grassroots activism, where the US army entering Uganda would be perceived as a “victory of the people”, effectively reversing the communications model.

Towards the end of the video, an image is displayed explaining how decisions (and messages) start from the top of the pyramid (the elite) and are communicated to the masses through mass media and such.

Due to the advent of social media, the above diagram has become a lot less effective to get a message across to the young generation. It is not CNN reports and the President addressing the nation anymore, it is about “liking” Facebook pages and viral YouTube videos. This is where messages now come across. Always studying, analyzing and exploiting the most effective ways to persuade public opinion, KONY 2012 appears to be an attempt to test out the effectiveness of a “viral” propaganda campaign. By creating this “movement” and making young people actually DEMAND the U.S. government intervene in Africa, the masterminds behind this campaign would manage the impossible: Reversing the propaganda model in order to make it emanate from the people. By doing so, the elite’s agenda is not only accepted by the masses, it is perceived as a victory by them.

“We are living in a new world” indeed. The KONY 2012 logo aptly represents how a viral video and social media can reverse the propaganda model. Don’t be fooled however. Power is still not in the hands of the base of the pyramid … far from it. It is all about appearances.

When the war on Iraq was declared, a great portion of young Americans opposed the war. How is it they are now begging the government to send troops to Africa? A simple video, specifically conceived for the Facebook generation did the trick. As it is the case in most campaigns to justify a war, the first goal was to identify a bad guy.

Identifying the Bad Guy

By associating Kony with Bin Laden and Hitler in this poster, KONY 2012 is promoting war.

I have absolutely no intention of defending Joseph Kony or to say “he’s not that bad”. He, along with many other guerrilla factions across Africa, has committed despicable atrocities. However, the problem of child soldiers has existed for decades and there are literally hundreds of Joseph Konys across the African continent. In some cases, some of the armies are actually funded by Western countries. If we would truly go to the root of the issue, we’d discover that Africa has been plagued with the problem of warring factions and rebel guerrillas ever since Western forces “liberated” their colonies and divided the continent of Africa according to Western interests. Indeed, instead of setting the boundaries of each country according to the geographic location of the ethnic groups and tribes that live there, countries were created according to the economic needs of colonizing forces such as Great Britain, France and others. The net result is: A bunch of artificial countries that each contain several tribes, ethnic groups, languages and religions. When one group takes power, the others are repressed, which leads to violence and rebellion. Add to the mix extreme poverty due to resources being siphoned out of Africa by Western countries and you’ve got a breeding ground for merciless warlords. As long as this problem exists, Joseph Konys will continue to emerge in Africa.

But the video mentions none of this. All it says is that arresting Kony would “make the world better”. KONY 2012 is all about identifying a bad guy, “making him famous” and have people demand his death by U.S. forces. Fixing the true cause of problems in the third world has never been on the Agenda. But picking out a “bad guy” to justify military action has always been part of it. If in the case of Saddam Hussein, “facts” (that ultimately proved false) were given to justify the invasion of Iraq. A different technique is being used with Kony, one that originates from advertising.

Any marketing specialist will tell you: “Facts don’t sell, emotions do”.  The first part of KONY 2012 solely addresses emotions. It is about making the filmmaker likeable, showing gut-wrenching images of African kids in pain, in misery and in despair. Then, the turning point: Joseph Kony is the cause of all of this. Not centuries of exploitation and devastation by Western forces in Africa that lead to chaos, lawlessness and poverty. No, it’s Kony. That bastard. George Clooney is really mad at him right now. He even tweeted about it.

Another marketing strategy is to appeal to the lowest common denominator. In other words, to get a message across, one must address the audience as if it was made of kids. KONY 2012 does exactly by ridiculously oversimplifying the problem to an actual child – who represents the viewers.  This is not surprising though, as this is how the masses are perceived by the higher ups.

Here’s what this scene implies: “Look, dumb-ass, even this little kid gets it. So you better get it.”

Once the viewers had their emotions stirred, got infantilized and had the problem spelled out to them as if they were in kindergarten, the table is set for the true goal of the video: Defining the agenda.

Defining the Agenda

KONY 2012 is a movement backed by some of the world’s most powerful entities and has precise goals. As the movie’s intro states, it is an experiment. It is an opportunity to create a movement that can be fully trackable, quantifiable and manageable through social media whose culmination is a U.S. military intervention in Uganda. The carrying out of this mission will not only be perceived as a victory, it will restore young people’s faith in democracy. What the members of this movement might not realize is that they are helping the advancement of the elite’s agenda towards a New World Order.

This poster aptly summarizes how the Illuminati works. Political parties are irrelevant as both work towards the same Agenda.

The second part of the movie let’s go of emotions and describes to the viewers what the elite expects from them. U.S. troops are already in Uganda, but, according to the movie, Kony “changed his tactics”… Damnit Kony, you and your sneaky tactics. Apparently, high tech satellites, unmanned drones and all kinds of radars are not enough to catch this guy. Nope, in order to catch him, a complicated plan, involving the purchase of an “Action Kit” and the registering an ID bracelet on a website is required. Makes sense.

Those who want to “Stop Kony” are required to wear a bracelet bearing a unique code which needs to be registered at a website. Of course, personal information is requested.

Once the bracelet is registered, members can associate it with their Facebook account, which will keep track of all KONY-related actions. The end result is: every single member of KONY 2012 will be known, identified and easily tracked – with constantly updated information. All of this data will of course be collected, scrutinized and stored by those in charge.

Furthermore, members are asked to contribute a “few dollars a month” to TRI, an organization whose ultimate goal is American military intervention in Uganda.

TRI’s logo is an inverted “Peace” sign. In symbolism, an inverted sign means that it stands for the opposite of the regular sign. In other words, TRI is about war. Peace does not involve “equipping” and “training” government forces to fight rebel factions. As the novel 1984 states, WAR IS PEACE, FREEDOM IS SLAVERY, and IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH.

To support the cause and to make it popular, a bunch of elite-sponsored artists and politicians have been enlisted, including Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Oprah, George Clooney, Bono, etc. Don’t be fooled, they are not there because they give a damn about child soldiers in Africa. They are pawns of the elite and used to promote its agenda. Basically, they are there to promote what the NWO wants.

Am I seeing warmongering George W. Bush in here? The dude that lied to the whole country in order to attack Iraq for its oil and stuff? Hmm. Weird.

After going past the celebrities and the emotions, the end result of this campaign is simple and steeped in real politik: Since the fall of rival superpower USSR, Western forces have sought to bring down and to control regional powers around the world, mostly in third countries. Uganda is part of that plan. The same way the spectre of Bin Laden was used to invade Afghanistan, Kony is being used to enter Uganda.

The video clearly shows what is the goal of this “movement”: U.S. troops taking charge of the Ugandan army, the same way it took charge of the Iraqi, Libyan and other armies in the past few years.

In Conclusion

KONY 2012 is a cleverly orchestrated campaign specifically aimed at today’s youth, the future citizens of the world. Using state-of-the-art techniques and new technologies, the campaign is a first attempt at “reverse propaganda”, where the agenda APPEARS to emanate from the people. By using emotions, irrational thoughts and superficial explanations, KONY 2012 attempts to trick well-meaning people, who desire to make a positive change in the world, to instead fuel a gigantic war machine that is controlled by the world’s elite.

Is KONY 2012 trying to eradicate child-soldiers or is it attempting to create a new kind of child-soldiers?

…Right.

Iraq War Veteran Suspected Of Shooting Dead Park Ranger Has Been Found, After Freezing To Death

Benjamin Colton Barnes

Benjamin Colton Barnes, 24, was suspected of gunning down a young mother of two daughters at the national park near Seattle.

Barnes is believed to have fled to the remote park on Sunday to hide after an earlier shooting at a New Year’s house party near Seattle that wounded four, two critically. Authorities suspect he shot ranger Margaret Anderson later on Sunday.

The SWAT team members were searching for the armed and dangerous man in quite horrendous conditions. They were even equipped with snow shoes to get through the snow and hopefully reach the suspect sooner than later.

Sadly, Barnes seems to be the result of war. He was over in Iraq for some time and has had trouble adjusting to reality here in the states. The young man apparently suffers from post-traumatic stress and at times felt suicidal, according to friends and family.

After a custody dispute with his daughter’s mother, she spoke out about how he had felt and why she had wanted the restraining order against the father of her child.

The woman told authorities he was suicidal and possibly suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder after deploying to Iraq in 2007-2008, and had once sent her a text message saying ‘I want to die.’

It’s tough to see such a young man lose all sight of reality after such a traumatizing experience, but then again, it’s tough to see a young man take the life of a mother, 34-year-old, who also had a husband that worked closely with her as a Rainier ranger as well.

All in all this is a perfect example of how war is a bad idea for the people who are commissioned to go over there and fight a battle they know nothing about as well as the people who are waiting for their return and have no idea what to expect. These soldiers should be given some medical care and attention when coming back from such a horrendous situation. These are usually young boys, with no idea of how to truly cope with the reality of what they see everyday, and we simply accept that they act like men and nothing has phased them.

Barnes’ temper led him to shoot at 4 different people at a house party in front of children. After that, he runs and hides (like he’s been taught to do in the armed forces) and is willing to protect himself at all costs. Unfortunately, the cost was Mrs. Anderson’s life. Many people were ruined on this day.

A plane searching the remote wilderness for Benjamin Colton Barnes, 24, on Monday discovered his body lying face down on the mountain hours from where authorities could get to him.

Anna, 3, Katie, 1, and Barnes child will now forever have lost a parent thanks to the tragedy that was caused (initially) overseas.

[VIDEO] A Powerful Message To The World

YouTube

Although some of you may recognize this speech from the film ‘The Great Dictator‘ featuring Charlie Chaplin, most of you probably do not. Using this speech with these images proved to be pretty moving which is ironic due to the fact that the film was a comedy used to make fun of Hitler and the Nazis. If you haven’t yet seen it, I suggest you give it a try. Until then, take the message from the video above. It’s a great one.

[VIDEO] The ‘Felonious Munk Presents: Stop It B! OBAMA PAY YOUR &*%$#% BILLS’ Video

First of all, I want to say that I did enjoy this video. Although I don’t completely agree, I also don’t disagree. Also, I could write an extremely in depth and lengthy piece on my opinions, but would rather not bore you unless you’re interested in hearing more. If so, comment and I promise to respond.

Now, after watching this video I must admit that I do agree with the opinions of this gentleman as far as our country needing to balance the fucking budget. In fact, this rant should have been made years ago when we were going to war under Bush and digging our country into the worst economic debt in quite some time. The fact that we’re holding the current president, Mr. Barack Obama, responsible for the mistakes made in previous regimes in the United States of America.

Yes, we do owe money to China. But lets please think about who borrowed that fucking money. Obama has inherited a war that has cost this country an absurd amount of money, a collapsing economy, a resistance from Congress, and yet he’s expected to make everything better? It’s not that fucking simple, and if you think it is, then you should maybe go out and try to run a country that has been in the process of gaining debt for more years than you’ve probably been alive.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that President Barack Obama is the best man for the job, not do I think he’s done everything in his ability to accomplish things that the citizens of this country want. What I am saying is it’s a bit difficult for him to make changes when Congress is constantly going against the changes the President is looking to implement. Let’s also remember the great things he has accomplished instead of focusing on the things he hasn’t been able to because of resistance, time constraints, and the problems that were dumped into his lap. Anyone can bitch about the country and what’s happening, but not everyone can stand up and attempt to do something.

SEALs killed in Afghan crash were answering call for help

Los Angeles Times -  Reporting from Kabul, Afghanistan –—

New details emerged Monday about the devastating helicopter crash that killed 30 U.S. service members including at least 22 elite Navy SEALs.

The chopper, carrying the SEALs as well as seven Afghan commandos and other U.S. troops, was downed early Saturday as it arrived to answer a call for help from another elite force, the Western military said publicly for the first time.

Previous reports had been contradictory about whether the Chinook helicopter carrying the SEALs was arriving or departing the scene in Afghanistan’s Wardak province. The chopper was apparently downed by insurgent fire.

A statement from NATO‘s International Security Assistance Force, the first detailed public accounting of the incident, said the operation “began as a security search for a Taliban leader responsible for insurgent operations in the nearby Tangi Valley.”

The initial team on the ground, not the SEALs, spotted insurgents armed with rocket-propelled grenades in the area and engaged them, and at about the same time issued a call for help. The statement did not identify the original team on the ground. Some published reports have said it was a unit of Army Rangers.

“These additional personnel were inbound to the scene when the CH-47 carrying them crashed, killing all on board,” the North Atlantic Treaty Organization force said in a statement. It said the troops already on the ground, backed by forces from a nearby Western base, then moved in to secure the scene.

The statement identified those aboard as five air crew members and 25 personnel from the Special Operations command. Previous reports have said those attached to the SEALs force included a civilian interpreter and a dog handler.
