[UPDATED] [AUDIO] Sandusky Sentenced to 30-60 Years in Prison: Jerry Sandusky Claims His Innocence Prior to Sentencing
UPDATED: TUESDAY October 9th, 2012 at 9:30 AM – Jerry Sandusky has been sentenced to 20-60 years in prison. Seeing as he’s already 68-years-old, this pretty much means that it is very likely he will die in prison. Judge Cleland said prior to giving him the maximum of 60 years:
‘I’m not going to sentence you to centuries in prison, although the law would permit that. It’s too abstract, only a big number.
‘You are sentenced to spend not less than 30 and not more than 60 years in prison; that has the unmistakeable impact of saying the rest of your life.
‘I think it cannot be disputed that you have done much positive work, tragedy that all the
qualities that made you successful continue to conceal the vices that brought you down.
‘Continuing to conceal those vices from yourself and everybody else, in my view, makes you dangerous.
‘The crime is not only what you did to their bodies, but the assault to their psyches and souls and the assault to the well-being of the larger community in which we all live.’
I think one of the most eloquent statements that was made, was that of the lead prosecutor:
‘Sandusky’s statement yesterday was an insult to the true victims…and an insult to human decency…but that’s not a surprise.’
‘He displayed deviance, narcissism, a lack of acknowledgement for the pain he caused others.
‘It was a masterpiece of banal self-delusion. The self-referential and ludicrous statement should disappear as if it never existed.
‘It was, in short, ridiculous. He displayed the same cowardice that he displayed when he preyed on children.’

“I’m responding to the worst loss of my life. First, I looked at myself. Over and over, I asked why? Why didn’t we have a fair opportunity to prepare for trial? Why have so many people suffered as a result of false allegations? What’s the purpose? Maybe it will help others; some vulnerable children who could be abused, might not be because of all the publicity. That would be nice, but I’m not sure about it. I would cherish the opportunity to become a candle for others, as they have been a light for me. They could take away my life, they could make me out as a monster, they could treat me as a monster, but they can’t take away my heart. In my heart, I know I did not do these alleged disgusting acts. My wife has been my only sex partner that was after marriage. Our love continues. A young man who was dramatic a veteran accuser, and always sought attention, started everything. He was joined by a well-orchestrated effort of the media, investigators, the system, Penn State, psychologists, civil attorneys and other accusers. They won. I’ve wondered what they really won: Attention, financial gain, prestige… will all be temporary. Before you blame me, as others have, look at everything and everybody. Look at the preparation for the trial and the trial. Compare it to others. Think about what happened. Why, and who made it happen? Evaluate the accusers and their families. Realize they didn’t come out of isolation. The accusers were products of many more people and experiences than me. Look at their confidants and their honesty. Think about how easy it was for them to turn on me given the information, attention and potential perks. I never labeled or put down them or their families. I tried and I cared, then asked for the same. Please realize all came to the Second Mile because of issues. Some of those may remain. We will continue to fight. We didn’t lose the proven facts, evidence, accurate locations and times. Anything can be said. We lost to speculation and stories that were influenced by people who wanted to convict me. We must fight unfairness and consistency and dishonesty. People need to be portrayed for who they really are. We’ve not been complainers. When we couldn’t have kids, we adopted. When we didn’t have time to prepare for a trial, we still gave it our best. We will fight for another chance. We have given many second chances, and now we’ll ask for one. It will take more than our effort. Justice will have to be more than just a word; fairness more than just a dream. It will take others: somebody apolitical with the courage to listen, to think about the unfairness, to have the guts to stand up and take the road less traveled. I ask for the strength to handle everything and willingness to surrender only to God, regardless of the outcome.”

[VIDEO] WARNING! EXTREMELY GRAPHIC: Malaysian Mother Caught Beating Her 10-Month-Old Baby
The woman in the video who can be seen abusing the 10-month-old, is the small child’s 18-year-old biological mother. Her friend had witnessed the mother being abusive prior to this incident and decided that she would attempt to get it on camera and take it to police.
The mother was arrested after this incident was revealed and sentenced to 18 months in prison. During that time, the child was placed with a foster family and no longer has to endure these brutal attacks. I couldn’t even watch the full video without looking away and crying. The brutality is so vicious and unwarranted, it’s sickening to see a mother act this way with her innocent child.

Rick Santorum: Having A Parent In Prison Better Than Having Two Same-Sex Parents
Rick Santorum is an ignorant jack ass who has no right to speak on the issue considering he has no experience with same-sex couples, parents, or colleagues. This man bases his views about gay marriage and gay parenting on what he believes to be the truth because of his religious beliefs. Sadly, due to this small reason, he hasn’t had any experience with gay people, at least, not enough to share any viewpoints on their lifestyles and how they impact a family.
If you are going to say that having an absent parent in prison is better than having two fully devoted parents, you are a completely ignorant dumb ass. Based on this comparison, I could conclude that being raped by a man would be better for me than to find love and compassion with a woman because while one is immoral (lesbianism), the other is a sin, but morally accepted based on the opinions of staunch Republicans who find the only relationship to be acknowledged should be between a man and a woman. Correct?
Citing the work of one anti-poverty expert, Santorum said, “He found that even fathers in jail who had abandoned their kids were still better than no father at all to have in their children’s lives.”
The thing I find ironically funny is that most of these parents who go into prison will most likely have a gay experience while in there. Does this mean that they are no longer a better choice than a law-abiding gay person?
FOR THE RECORD:
Rick Santorum: An article in the Jan. 7 Section A about the New Hampshire primary reported that GOP candidate Rick Santorum said in 2005 that gay marriage is no different from “man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be.” He said this in an interview with the Associated Press in 2003. A Los Angeles Times article on Oct. 2, 2011, also gave the incorrect 2005 date. —
Comparing molesting and/or raping children and bestiality to homosexuality is one of the most politically incorrect things I have heard out of someone’s mouth. We are not forcing people to have sex with us and be submissive to our needs. We are not looking for another species that cannot speak and say yes or no. We are not interested in children and corrupting youth. We want to love who we fall in love with, freely, openly, and without judgment. To compare of to perverted criminals with a lack of self-control is incredibly disrespectful and inaccurate. If someone with Santorum’s intelligence became President of The United States, I would not be able to proudly call myself American for I would be ashamed of the man who led this country and the voters who stood behind him.
Allowing gays to marry and raise children, Santorum said, amounts to “robbing children of something they need, they deserve, they have a right to. You may rationalize that that isn’t true, but in your own life and in your own heart, you know it’s true.”
If you haven’t read my article about Lesbian Mothers having no reported child abuse (sexually, emotionally or physically), then please click here.
There were three students that had grown up in gay households that were present for Mr. Santorum’s speech at the boarding school. Not surprisingly, these students made no scene and treated the speaker respectfully while he condemned their way of life and bashed their families morals. I would really love to hear what these students thought about what the GOP candidate had to say.
YouTube: Zach Wahls, a 19-year-old University of Iowa student spoke about the strength of his family during a public forum on House Joint Resolution 6 in the Iowa House of Representatives. Wahls has two mothers, and came to oppose House Joint Resolution 6 which would end civil unions in Iowa.
The fight to to keep marriage equality in Iowa continues, help us support Iowans like Zach.

Alabama Gives Criminals Choice: Serve Jail Time Or Go To Church
Non-violent offenders in southern Alabama are amongst the luckiest criminals in the United States of America. According to authorities, they will now have the choice to either serve jail time or attend church every Sunday for a year.
This ridiculous plan that will be implemented next week is being known as Operation Restore Our Community (ROC) and will also save the state money because it won’t have to pay the $75/day it costs to house non-violent offenders in their jails.
The city judge in Bay Minette will let misdemeanor offenders choose to work off their sentences in jail and pay a fine; or go to church every Sunday for a year.
The offenders will also be given the ability to choose their place of worship and must check in with the pastor and police department weekly. Meanwhile, while not in church, they can carry on being criminals and diminishing the integrity of the cities they live in. Awesome. And after completing a year of church-going their cases will be dismissed, as if it never happened.
As of now 56 churches are participating and allowing criminals into their churches to get off easy by not going to jail and pretending to give a shit about religion and God. In an interview, one pastor states “you show me someone who falls in love with Jesus, I’ll show you someone who won’t be a threat to society”. This is utter bullshit. I know plenty of “religious” people who have committed heinous crimes, which include the mother who killed her daughter’s friend and sexually assaulted her in California. That bitch worked at the Church and taught Sunday school! Just because you are religious, or pretend to be, and go to church, doesn’t mean you are not capable of committing crimes. This is ignorance at its best. Good job, Alabama. Way to give the criminals in your state all the authority. Who in the hell thinks that any of these offenders will be choosing jail AND paying money that they probably got into trouble trying to get anyway?

Warren Jeffs In Coma After Starving Himself
The notorious, and previous prophet, Warren Jeffs, has been taken to a hospital after eating and drinking very little.
Jeffs, 55, who is serving a 130-year sentence for sexually assaulting two of his many under-age wives, had been refusing to eat properly for the past three days while behind bars and became so weak he dropped into a coma, sources said.
Just recently, Jeffs was moved to the Louis C. Powledge Unit, located west of Palestine, Texas. Here is where he was put into solitary confinement and spent 22 hours a day in a hot, muggy cell. There was no air conditioning in the cell and seeing how hot it has been in Texas lately, this may have contributed to his becoming so dehydrated.
At this time, he is in a coma and has been declared in critical, but stable, condition. Personally, I don’t care if he survives and wish someone would just pull the plug so no one has to pay for him to stay alive.
Before Jeffs was moved to Louis C. Powledge Unit, he was in the county jail and an officer there had explained that his sexual drive was well above most other inmates. Rick Bradley, the former prison guard, had said that “the child molester, who used to preach to his congregants about abstaining from the act, masturbated continuously while in custody.” In fact, he apparently masturbated about 15 times a day in plain view of everyone in the jail. What a creep.

“Hello Kitty” Devotee Preys On Young Girls
Erik Epperson is a 22-year-old guy living in Indiana and working at a pizzeria. He also considers himself a “Hello Kitty” devotee, and tends to wear clothing and accessories to show his admiration.
Unfortunately, right now he is being held on criminal charges for going to California for the purpose of having sex (or sexual activity) with a minor. The odd part is that he willingly admitted that this information was accurate. He stated that he met the San Diego girl on facebook through a mutual friend of theirs. Epperson didn’t stop there, but continued to tell investigators all of his dirty little secrets.
Epperson copped to having sex with about a dozen other female juveniles and said that he “recorded himself having sexual intercourse” with three girls and took a photo of another girl’s nude vagina “because it looked nice.”
He also, told investigators that he “sent nude pictures of his penis to several girls,” adding that he “could not find any girls over 18 years old to date because of what he believed to be his own 15 year old girl personality.”
And he also told the FBI that he was in the process of joining the Navy “so that he could travel to Japan and see the world.” I have a feeling that he was headed to Japan for something other than to sight see. You don’t get sexually involved with 14-year-old Japanese girls in California, and then plan on going to Japan just to “see the world.”
Epperson will probably never be able to prove me right though, due to the fact that he may face up to 30 years in prison for traveling over state lines to have sex with a minor. He should have waited until he was in Japan; Now he’s the one that’s going to be having sex with older inmates, who are most likely not going to be Japanese.
The World’s Most Humane Prison

The maximum sentence in Norway, even for murder, is 21 years. Since most inmates will eventually return to society, prisons mimic the outside world as much as possible to prepare them for freedom. At Halden, rooms include en-suite bathrooms with ceramic tiles, mini-fridges and flat-screen TVs. Officials say sleeker televisions afford inmates less space to hide drugs and other contraband. Photo taken 2010.
I came across this prison in Norway, while reading an article about the confessed murdered, Anders Behring Breivik. There was speculation that he might be able to serve his time in one of the most enjoyable prisons out there. Although this was rumored, it is way more likely that he will be spending his days in the “Ila prison, which is less cushy than Halden, but still “a far cry” from the bare cells of American prisons.” In fact, this is where he currently has been spending time since his arrest, with little comfort. Breivik is in a cell with a toilet, table and chair. This seems more fitting than the prison that has become known as the most humane.
Yahoo – Halden Fengsel, opened last year outside of Oslo and houses around 250 male inmates.
The documentary photographer Alex Masi writes that the cells in Halden are equipped “with an en-suite bathroom, a flat-screen TV and various comforts. They measure 12 [square meters--about 129 square feet] and are divided up into units (10 to 12) which share a living room and kitchen,” much like a college dorm. Time Magazine described the cells as resembling an Ikea showroom, complete with “stainless-steel countertops, wraparound sofas and birch-colored coffee tables.”
The art budget for the facility came in at more than a million dollars, Masi says, while the cells are brightly painted and lack bars on the windows. Inmates take specialty cooking classes or choose from many other courses at an in-prison high school. They can jog around the 75-acre wooded facility or even climb on the prison’s rock walls.
According to Time, prison guards are required to help each inmate make his sentence “as meaningful, enlightening and rehabilitating as possible.” About half of the prison guards are women, since research has suggested that a corps of female guards can help reduce aggression among the prison population. The unarmed guards eat meals and play games with prisoners.
According to Raf Sanchez at the Telegraph, the region’s governor, Are Hoidal, said at the prison’s opening ceremony that prisons should focus on “human rights and respect.”
“We want to build them up, give them confidence through education and work and have them leave as better people,” he said.
Sanchez adds that only 20 percent of Norwegian prisoners return to jail within two years of their release, a very low recidivism rate. (For comparison, a 1994 study suggested that more than 60 percent of released prisoners in America were arrested again within three years, while 51.8 percent returned to prison. The U.S. rate of incarceration also dwarfs Norway’s.)
According to Foreign Policy’s Robert Zeliger, most murderers in Norway serve 14 years or less. A criminal may only be sentenced to 21 years before the government must evaluate him or her for release. Those still deemed a threat to society receive an addition five-year sentence before undergoing another evaluation. “Life without parole” is not an option.
Here are a few more (not all) of the photos, provided by TIME:

Village People To help inmates develop routines and to reduce the monotony of confinement, designers spread Halden's living quarters, work areas and activity centers across the prison grounds. In this "kitchen laboratory," inmates learn the basics of nutrition and cooking. On a recent afternoon, homemade orange sorbet and slices of tropical fruit lined the table. Prisoners can take courses that will prepare them for careers as caterers, chefs and waiters. Photo taken 2010.

Open Wide Norwegian inmates lose their right to freedom but not to state services like health care. Dentists, doctors, nurses and even librarians work in the local municipality, preventing a subpar prison standard from developing. On-site, Halden boasts a small hospital and this state-of-the-art dentist's office. Photo taken 2010.

Prison Yard Halden's architects preserved trees across the 75-acre site to obscure the 20-ft.-high security wall that surrounds the perimeter, in order to minimize the institutional feel and, in the words of one architect, to "let the inmates see all of the seasons." Benches and stone chessboards dot this jogging trail. Photo taken 2010.

Recording Artists There's also a recording studio with a professional mixing board. In-house music teachers — who refer to the inmates as "pupils," never "prisoners" — work with their charges on piano, guitar, bongos and more. Three members of Halden's security-guard chorus recently competed on Norway's version of American Idol. They hope to produce the prison's first musical — starring inmates — later this year. Photo taken 2010.

Security guards organize activities from 8:00 in the morning until 8:00 in the evening. It's a chance for inmates to pick up a new hobby, but it's also a part of the prison's dynamic security strategy: occupied prisoners are less likely to lash out at guards and one another. Inmates can shoot hoops on this basketball court, which absorbs falls on impact, and make use of a rock-climbing wall, jogging trails and a soccer field. Photo taken 2010.
Mixed-race woman to marry white supremacist murder suspect whose face is covered in swastikas
Dailymail - A mixed-race woman due to marry a white supremacist murder suspect has spoken out in support of her man.
Erica Herrera, who is half Hawaiian and half Hispanic, said despite prison inmate Curtis Allgier’s frightening appearance – with tattoos of swastikas and the word ‘skinhead’ covering his face – he is ‘kinder’ and ‘gentler’ than he is publicly portrayed.
‘He’s a very sweet, loving…He’s a really kind-hearted, good person,’ she said, defending her plans to marry the man who faces the death penalty for murder.
Herrera, from Sacramento, California, plans to marry Allgier, 31, in a ceremony at the Utah State Prison in Draper on August 8.
The man has signs of hating everyone of “color” ON HIS FACE! Is he no longer a skinhead or does he just not understand that she is Hawaiian and Hispanic? This seems like the most ridiculous attempt to get attention I’ve ever seen. I’m surprised that white supremacists in the prison aren’t coming after this guy for disgracing their image. I mean, he’s the goddamn spokesman for white power…have you seen his face?! The best part though is the date he’s chosen to wed his ethnic beauty… Hitler’s birthday. Now, if he didn’t have those adorable tattoos all over his face I might just think he enjoyed marijuana, but I have a feeling this has a different meaning. Either way, congratulations to the couple no one saw coming.
Overpopulation and The Problems It Is Causing
A few years back I read a book called ‘The Wanting Seed’ by Anthony Burgess. The novel was based upon a society that was dealing with the consequences of overpopulation far too late and had to deal with it as best as they could. Homosexuality was encouraged as the “normal” sexuality considering that it led to no children. Being straight was viewed as being a rebel, and having a child was seen as being an aggressive rebel who was pointing your finger at authorities waiting for them to eventually strike back.
Buildings in this place were very tall, very close together, and very tiny. You made use of everything in the room and lived with the bare minimum. Having children was seen as taking up more room than you needed. If one was discovered to be pregnant, they could force an abortion upon you just to maintain the already overpopulated species.
Food was another topic that was discussed often in ‘The Wanting Seed’. Except, there were not any fields or crops because there was no space. They had to keep just what they needed to survive. It wasn’t necessarily appetizing, but it held them over. Because of this, people craved variety, and being that they were human, they craved meat. Cannibalism became something that people enjoyed, and others feared.
The prison system was an entirely different issue. There was no justice. There was no room for justice.
As I was first reading this book I became enthralled with the idea that homosexuality had become the acceptable form of sexuality. But unfortunately, when I saw what else had become the “norm”, I quickly realized this was a disgusting place to live.
This isn’t suppose to be about the book, but rather that we are currently facing a problem of overpopulation, and it’s one that isn’t being discussed too often. In fact, I never really even thought about it until I read this book, which to my shock, was written in the 1960′s. Then, today I read an article in the Los Angeles Times that made me think about Anthony Burgess’ book once again and felt I needed to share this.

Casey Anthony Has Been Released

Casey Anthony, center, walks out of the Orange County Jail with her attorney Jose Baez, left, during her release in Orlando, Fla., early Sunday, July 17, 2011. Anthony was acquitted last week of murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee. (Red Huber, Pool/AP Photo)
On Sunday, July 17th, Casey Anthony was released from prison after serving nearly 3 years behind bars awaiting the trial of her daughter Caylee (who she was suspected of killing or having some involvement). Many people are outraged that she spent such a little amount of time behind bars, but the fact of the matter is…she was acquitted.
My personal opinion oh her involvement is just that, personal opinion. I think the main reason people are so bothered by this verdict is because nearly EVERYONE believes that she could have at the very least, informed authorities that her daughter was missing for a month! It seems rather strange that a loving mother would just let that go. Also, the tattoo that she had gotten while her daughter was “missing” was rather ironic.
Either way, ” Anthony reportedly boarded a private plane from the Orlando Executive Airport around 3 a.m. Sunday upon her release after approximately three years in prison.” It is also known that she “is safe at an undisclosed location”. I’m so happy to know that she’s safe and living the high life on private planes. Ridiculous.
