[VIDEO] I Want To Know What It’s Like

Screen shot 2012-03-01 at 4.29.52 PM

This is an incredibly moving video that sheds light on homophobia and how it affects the homosexual community. be aware that what you say and how you act affects others. Know, that just because you think you’re superior, doesn’t mean you are. This video is an emotional one that reminds me of the issues that not only I, but many of my friends, have had to deal with. It’s an unfair society where homosexual people are looked at as sinners, mistakes, flaws in humanity, and worthless. Although this isn’t true in many cases today (thanks to the understanding of good, moral people), it still does exist and because of that, no matter how accepted we are, we still feel like less than normal. This, is pathetic because it’s not true.

I WANT TO KNOW WHAT IT’S LIKE

I want to know what it’s like…
To be normal. To be accepted. To be human. To be equal. To be free.

I want to know what it’s like…
To be open. To be heard. To be loved. To be happy. To be me.

I want to know what it’s like…
To feel like I belong.
To feel like I am strong.
That who I am isn’t wrong.
I want to know what it’s like…
To know that I am here.
That Iʼll make it through the year.
To know I wonʼt disappear.

I want to know what it’s like…
To not have to fight.
To see an end in sight.
To make what is wrong right.
I want to know what it’s like…
To be able to believe.
In a higher power that doesn’t see.
Me as sin or sodomy.

I want to know what it’s like…
To have liberty & justice for all
To break down this dividing wall
To remove homophobia from the law
I want to know what itʼs like…
To have a feeling that isn’t sad.
To have something that I’ve never had.
To have a child call me dad.

I want to know what it’s like…
To not feel like Iʼm a freak
To not feel like I am weak
To not be silenced when I speak
I want to know what it’s like…
To live beyond a closet door.
To see my father once more.
To show him I’m not who I was before.

I want to know what itʼs like…
To donate the blood from my vein
But because Iʼm gay I must refrain.
Why does my sexuality pertain?!
I want to know what itʼs like…
To not BE expelled from school
To not be made to look like a fool.
How is homosexuality breaking a rule?!

I want to know what it’s like…
To undo what’s been done to me.
To give sight to those who cannot see.
That I am no lesser of a human being
I want to know what itʼs like…
To not be considered a disease.
To not have a majority I have to please.
To freely express my individualiTY.

I want to know what itʼs like…
To live in a land truly of the free.
Not a land that excludes me.
This is not how itʼs supposed to be!
I want to know what itʼs like…
To not be the target of bigotry
To not have you question my sanity
To not succumb to your superiority!

I want to know what it’s like…
To overcome all of my fears.
To uncry these countless tears.
That have been shed over the years.
I want to know what it’s like…
To learn about gay leaders of the past.
In my high school history class.
Can somebody please tell me what is so wrong with that?!

I want to know what it’s like…
To have pride.
To not have to hide.
To not have to lie my whole life.
To not have my sexuality be denied.
I want to know what it’s like…
To not have to feel this hurt inside.
To not think these thoughts in my mind.
To not contemplate suicide.

I want to know what it’s like…
To have this pain in me subside.
To heal this wound that bleeds inside.
To get back the tears that I’ve cried.
To take back the years that Iʼve tried.
To bring back the life that has died.
To unite this world’s divide.
To make change with stride.
To not stand below, but beside.

I want to know what it’s like…
To have this choice you say is mine.
To have science & religion intertwine.
To have love be redefined.
I want to know what it’s like…
To have a government that won’t instate
Unfair laws that provoke hate
For fear society will disintegrate

I want to know what itʼs like….
To live in a world without hate.
A world that does not discriminate.
A world in which I can feel safe.
Whether I am gay bi or straight.
This is the world we must create!!!
These are the decisions we must make.
These are the actions we must take.
The time is now we cannot, we must not, we will not wait.

I want to know what itʼs like…
To have equal opportunity.
To know the feeling of full equality.
To be one collective humanity.

I want to know what it’s like…
To be treated equally by my peers.
To stand alongside every queer…
On the edge of a new frontier.

A frontier that no one will dictate.
A frontier where there will be no debate.
A frontier in which everyone can relate.
A frontier made up of love and not hate.

I want to know what it’s like…
To open your eyes so you can see.
The way this world is supposed to be.
We arenʼt so different, you & me.

The Gay Agenda: “My Gay Lifestyle” By Domenick Scudera

Rainbow flag flapping in the wind with blue sk...

Image via Wikipedia

Sarcasm and wit are two of my most favorite qualities in an individual, other than homosexuality, of course. After reading this article written by Mr. Scudera, I was thrilled that someone wrote out such an amazing example of the gay lifestyle. Truth be told, I was expecting him to talk about the ridiculous amounts of drugs and sex he’d engaged in, but he decided to go another route. I believe every homophobic Republican needs to sit down, read this letter, and realize how pathetic their excuses for hate have become.

Huff Post Gay Voices -

I live the gay lifestyle, the gay lifestyle that is often mentioned by some Republican candidates for president. For those who are unfamiliar with the lifestyle, this is a typical day:

7:00 a.m. I wake up, and just as I have done every morning since puberty, I choose to be gay today. This will come as a great relief to my gay, homosexual, male lover who lies beside me. Because being gay is a choice, our relationship is a gamble day to day. Even though we have both chosen to remain gay and to be together every day for the past 16 years, we never take anything for granted. One of us just might throw in the towel one day and give up the lifestyle.

7:30 a.m. I take a gay shower and let the gay water rinse off my gay body.

8:00 a.m. I have a gay breakfast of cereal with milk, and a good, strong, gay cup of coffee. I am fortified for another day of ruining the fabric of American society.

9:00 a.m. I start my morning shift as a gay hospital volunteer. The hospital is not gay, just me. The patients are mostly normal people. But it is OK. The hospital has a rule that all volunteers must sanitize their hands before meeting with patients. This is to avoid spreading germs, but I think that hand sanitizer is also effective in stopping the transfer of my gayness to other people.

12:00 p.m. I return home, eat a gay lunch and take my gay dogs for a walk. Well, I am not sure if the dogs are actually gay. I have heard it said that homosexuality does not exist in the animal kingdom because it is not natural, so chances are that the dogs are not gay. But because they live with me and my gay, homosexual, male lover, they are perceived by others to be gay. I would feel bad about this, but the fact is that I need these dogs. They are the closest that I will ever come to having actual children, because, as everyone knows, gays should not (and cannot) have children. I push this out of my mind as I walk the dogs gaily through the neighborhood.

1:00 p.m. I teach classes at a small, prestigious, liberal arts college. I am a gay college professor. The college is not gay, just me. But some may view the college as way too liberal, because “sexual orientation” is listed within the college’s anti-discrimination policy. This basically means that the college turns a blind eye as I infect the impressionable students with my gayness on a daily basis. I do not teach anything particularly gay in my classes. I am a theater professor, which, for all intents and purposes, is gay to most people, anyway.

6:00 p.m. My gay, homosexual, male lover returns home from his job. Luckily, he has chosen to be gay today, too, so we can sit down and have a nice, relaxing gay dinner together. We are aware that our relationship is ripping at the seams of our heterosexual neighbors’ marriages, but we choose to ignore this. If we were normal people, the guilt might weigh on us heavily, but we are gay, after all, so we do not have consciences. We eat in peace.

8:00 p.m. We go gay bowling at our Suburban Gay Bowling League. There are quite a lot of us homosexuals who gather each week to bowl at our local bowling alley. This makes the normal suburban bowlers uncomfortable, but we do not care. Some of them are openly hostile to us. The more polite ones just stare at us. It makes us feel like we are caged, exotic animals in a zoo. But we count ourselves lucky because the alley owners have sold out. They allow us to bowl here because they are desirous of our ample, disposable gay income. Ah, the almighty dollar! The owners show mercy on the normal suburbanites, though, by putting a buffer zone of two vacant lanes between our gay league and them. We are respectful of this line, which we call the “edge of gayness,” and do not cross it. We try to tone down our gaiety and frivolity by focusing intently on our bowling. The normal suburbanites never venture past their side of the line, either, because it would be unimaginable to them to interact with us.

11:00 p.m. My gay, homosexual, male lover and I collapse from the weariness of the gay lifestyle we have been living today. All of this subversive loving, volunteering, working, eating, playing and socializing is exhausting. Some say the gay lifestyle is self-enslavement, but we just cannot think about that now. Before we fall asleep, we each take out our personal, leather-bound copies of The Gay AgendaThe Gay Agenda is our Bible. We do not look at the real Bible because we are gay and therefore have no religion or morality. We read and strategize how we can best destroy American society tomorrow. Sharing a good, hardy, gay laugh, we each fall into a sound, gay sleep.

Thursday 4Play! Theme: Gay

Parents Rally For Lesbian Teacher To Be Fired, And Succeed

Guess where this lovely incident occurred in which parents taught their children that hate was okay and being gay was so wrong that they shouldn’t even be allowed to retain their employment? If you said Texas, which I’m assuming most of you did, you would be right!

Nikki Williams, 26, was not only a history teacher, but also devoted a lot of her time to be one of the high school’s basketball coaches. A threat to the children or a willing adult, devoting her time to trying to be involved and make a difference in these children’s lives? I may be biased due to the fact that I am most definitely a lesbian, but I’d say she was a typical 26-year-old female who had a passion for teaching. What a filthy dyke! Getting out there and educating those children! How could she?!

After a group of parents decided to protest a “gay” teaching their children and being employed by the school, she happened to be fired for “performance issues”. There are some parents at the Life School in Waxahachie, Texas, who are convinced the real reason for her being let go was because of her sexuality.

What’s more ridiculous about this story, is who was chosen to replace this evil dyke.

Nikki Williams, 26, was replaced by a football coach who resigned in September after a grievance was filed against him.

Grievances with other people who incite you to resign from your position, acceptable. Being a lesbian that shouldn’t affect or even be a subject matter of interest, unacceptable. I’m beginning to understand why people assume Texas is such a conservative place that is stuck a century behind the majority of us.

Dozens of parents are now circulating a petition asking to bring Williams back to school. She was fired October 18.

“I think that her being gay has nothing to do with her coaching skills,” parent Tiniqua Smith told KDAF. “She has not tried to push this off on the kids, and I don’t feel like that should be a problem.”

Wake the fuck up Texas parents who were fighting against this teacher/coach! She was damn good at her job according to many people and her sexuality shouldn’t be an issue. Are you telling me you’d rather have your kids be taught and coached by Jerry Sandusky (before being aware of the allegations) than Ms. Williams? If sexuality is your concern, then yes, your answer would be yes. Sadly, you’ve just taken your kid away from someone who has never been accused of committing such heinous crimes and placed them into the arms of a man who has gotten away with many molestations (if the allegations are determined truthful). You’d rather them not be influenced into becoming gay than having their childhood’s taken away and a life of insecurity thrown on their backs? If so, you are the ones we should be protesting as parents. You should most certainly NOT be educating our youth.

Protect your children. Love your children. Let your children be who THEY want to be; If you don’t allow this for your children, then you’re holding them back and risking that they may have problems in the future because of what you didn’t approve of at the time. Stop being selfish.

[VIDEO] Senator Gretchen Whitmer Responds to Pro-Bullying Legislation in Michigan

A bill has been passed in Michigan by the Senate’s Republicans that essentially legalizes bullying. The bill was passed in a vote of 26-11, receiving no democratic votes. Ultimately it gives teachers, fellow students, school employees, volunteers and parents, the right to decided that bullying was okay if there was a religious or moral reason.

This seems ridiculous because essentially being gay is “immoral” and “non-religious” in many persons opinions, and will therefore allow any gay kid to continue being bullied because of their immoral acts.

Sadly, the bill is names for a Michigan teen who was bullied so badly he felt inclined to commit suicide. The students name was Matt Epling, and Gretchen does a great job at pointing out that this teen wouldn’t have even been saved by the bill that is named after him.

The Michigan Messenger reports:

In a floor speech Minority Leader in the Senate Gretchen Whitmer (D-East Lansing) slammed the Republicans over the amended language.

“Here today you claim to be protecting kids and you’re actually putting them in more danger,” Whitmer said. “But bullying is not OK. We should be protecting public policy that protects kids — all kids, from bullies — all bullies. But instead you have set us back further by creating a blueprint for bullying.”

“Shockingly, Senate Bill 137 will do more harm than good. Senate Republicans left our students behind in favor of partisan politics and passed a bill that actually allows more bullying. Students and parents expect lawmakers to lead the charge against bullying, but instead Republicans made ideology more important than school safety,” said Emily Dievendorf, policy director of Equality Michigan. “Research clearly shows that only states with enumerated bills see a reduction in bullying. We need a bill that mentions the most affected populations and requires statewide reporting of bullying and harassment. SB 137 simply does nothing to reduce bullying in our schools.”

“To the families of the ten reported suicides that were directly linked to bullying and the countless others that have gone unreported, this bill adds insult to injury,” said Senator Glenn Anderson (D-Westland). “I have been working for years to pass legislation to provide a safe school environment for all of our students. This bill goes in the exact opposite direction and in fact provides a license to bully.”

The legislation passed 26 – 11. It now moves to the Republican-controlled House.

“I am ashamed that this could be Michigan’s bill on anti-bullying, when in fact it is a ‘bullying is OK in MI’ law,” said Kevin Epling, an East Lansing parent whose son committed suicide as a result of bullying. His comment was posted on his Facebook page.

In an interview he had more to say.

“For years the line has been ‘no protected classes,’ and the first thing they throw in — very secretly — was a very protected class, and limited them from repercussions of their own actions. This line has no purpose within this piece of legislation except to incite ‘religious bigotry’ within our schools. Schools are trying to build more tolerant students and future leaders, not automatons blindly following misguided adult leaders who seek a return to a 1950′s America,” Epling said. “This will only cause unrest in schools and give schools one more thing to deal with rather than trying to solve a problem. Also it is not a very well thought out ploy, as in some areas of the state the tables might be turned on the ‘anointed ones’ they seek to keep from being punished. This is just very wrong and the way it was done was wrong as well. It was bullying at its best.”

This is pathetic and a sad day in which we have not moved forward with anti-hate, but rather taken a huge step backwards. We are suppose to be teaching our children that everyone is to be loved and respected, not the other way around. This bill gives righteous young people the freedom to bully a classmate if they see their differences (gay, atheism, etc.) as a reason to insult and degrade another. Yet, if one righteous young person insults another rightwous young person, this bill will make that a crime. Wouldn’t you think that righteous individuals wouldn’t be inclined to bully anyway? Aren’t they expected to respect, love and not judge their peers for that is what God would want?

Truly heartbreaking.

Gay Bashing: Gay Man Beaten, Stabbed, And Set On Fire At Party In Rural Texas

Burke Burnett, 26, and three of his gay friends decided to attend a party on Saturday night in Reno, Texas, and had no idea that it would turn into a nightmare. Instead of being welcomed like the rest of the guests, they were greeted with comments, such as, “These faggots don’t deserve to be here. Somebody needs to get them out of there.”

I’m sorry but what was so great about the men who were making these accusations of being deserving or not? And what did they have to offer that they deserved to be there? Oh that’s right, because they like vagina. Wouldn’t you think that the more men there that aren’t after the same thing as you would be a good thing? No, you’re too simple-minded, ignorant, and bigoted to recognize the obvious and get past your unjustified hatred of a community you know nothing about.

All the men had left the party, but Burnett didn’t hear the remarks previously said about him and his friends and decided to return. This was an awful mistake. Sadly, homosexuals have to worry about things like going to a party, which is absolutely fucking ridiculous.

It was then that one attacker punched Burnett in his left eye and another stabbed him hard in the back with a broken beer bottle.

As his assailants yelled  “pussy-ass faggot,” “gay bitch,”  “cocksucking punk,” and other insults, Burnett was stabbed a second time, deep in his right forearm, and thrown onto a lit barrel.

One of Burnett’s female friends was able to distract the four shit heads while he ran to the parking lot to flee the assault. A friend was kind enough to take the poor beaten down gay man to the hospital where he received 30 stitches and treatment for 3rd degree burns.

Burnett says he knows his attackers, one of them personally, and he’s certain they had intended to kill him. “I’m scared for my life. I’m scared to go home,” he told theDallas Voice. “These guys have nothing to lose.”

Reno is a small, conservative suburb of Paris, TX, with a population of only 3,086 people. Burnett’s gay friends worry that local authorities may ignore or downgrade the attack, despite Texas’ tough new hate-crime law. And, so far, the mainstream press has yet to pick up the story.

“I intend to make sure the Police Department follows through with this, and that the local press covers it,” Burnett’s friend Chivas Clem told the Voice. “When I saw  him, I vomited because he looked so bad — and I cried.”

We’re counting on the authorities to pursue this case to its fullest extent and the community to stand up against such horrific attacks. We’re waiting.

This is truly pathetic. Not only did the poor guy have to get beaten, nearly to death, but now he’s afraid for his life. The police should be more involved and helpful. Beating someone, no matter who is on the receiving end, is wrong, and it’s for this reason that we employee police to protect us and the communities we live in.

Even here in West Hollywood gay men have to worry while walking the streets alone. Three in the past month of October have been beaten and gay bashed. These people deserve respect and dignity until they personally offend you in a legitimate way. Only then can you lose respect, but never will it be okay to beat someone because of your differences.

Spread the word. Fight hate. Now is the time for change, but in order for change to be made, people need to step up, do the right thing, and punish the people who are committing these heinous crimes.

“Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” Is Dead! Finally!

Congratulations to any and all service men and women that have been forced to keep their lives a secret for any amount of time! Today, the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” will be implemented, and gay individuals will have the right to serve their country, openly, as gay Americans.

The policy was originally a compromise that President Clinton had made in 1993, in the hopes of not discriminating against the gay citizens who wanted to fight and serve for their country. Unfortunately, his plan backfired and initiated the first actual law that made it legal for military personnel to be discharged sue to sexual orientation. In fact, “don’t ask” was never the intention of the military, and any valid evidence of homosexual behavior was reason to be fired.

“From this day forward, gay and lesbian Soldiers may serve in our Army with the dignity and respect they deserve,” Secretary of the Army John M. McHugh and Army officials wrote (see a PDF of the letter here). “For over 236 years, the U.S. Army has been an extraordinary force for good in the world. Our Soldiers are the most agile, adaptable and capable warriors in history — and we are ready for this change.”

There was a gentleman by the name of JD Smith, who was the co-director of Outserve, and he has decided to reveal his identity on Day 1 of the implementation. Josh Seefried is a finance officer in the Air Force and 2009 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy.

“I personally felt it was important to come out of the closet on Day 1 to show that sexual orientation in the military will truly be a nonissue,” Seefried said. “Overseas we have seen that some militaries still do not have people that feel comfortable coming out with their sexual orientation, even years after the policy has changed. I hope that by coming out, along with the other military members who chose to come out publicly in the pages of our magazine, help to show our military was ready for this change.”

VIDEO: Foo Fighters Singing Protest Of Westboro Baptist Church (God Hates Fags)

Yesterday in Kansas City, the Westboro Baptist Church was all set and ready to protest the Foo Fighters. This cruel group was caught off guard by the Foo Fighters turning this into an anti-protest and dressed in trucker attire, sang to the protesters and excited the crowd.

The “church” of judgmental prejudiced assholes announced that it would be coming to protest the Foo Fighter’s concert because they used their position in the media to promote “fornication, adultery, idolatry, f*gs,” as opposed to “using it to encourage obedience to God.”

Luckily, the Foo Fighters band members not only have a sense of humor, but stand up for what they believe in and shocked everyone by pulling up in front of the Sprint Center on a flatbed truck in their “homoerotic” video ‘Hot Buns’ attire. Dave Grohl took it one step further and made it clear that he supported diversity.

“I don’t care if you’re black or white or purple or green. Whether you’re Pennsylvanian or Transylvanian, Lady Gaga or Lady Antebellum,” he tells the crowd. “Men loving women and women loving men, and men loving men and women loving women, you all know we like to watch that. God Bless America, y’all!”

Way to go and make a stand against these sick and twisted group of individuals. For far too long, people have been rendered speechless due to their protests, and it is about fucking time someone who has the ability to stage an anti-protest has done so. They are a hateful group and if a God does exist (which I do not believe, but doesn’t mean it’s not true) than I would be willing to bet he would not forgive these people for the atrocities that they commit on the daily.

Sally Kern Belives Homosexuality Is A Bigger Threat Than Terrorism

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Ms. Sally Kern, she is an Oklahoma Republican lawmaker. Oklahoma is truly a breeding ground for Republicans that despise homosexuality, at least from my experience. Now, don’t get me wrong, not everyone from Oklahoma has these beliefs, but they are far more abundant than I am familiar with, living here in Los Angeles, CA.

Anyway, Kern decided it would be a great way to commemorate 9/11 by explaining that gays and lesbians are worse of a threat than terrorists and terrorism. While she may feel strongly about such issues, I don’t think that was extremely great timing. To be honest, I really don’t agree with the statement at all. If you remember correctly, TERRORISTS flew planes into the twin towers and the Pentagon, killing thousands of innocent civilians on American soil. As far as I know, there have been no such attacks from the gay community, and according to my ‘gay agenda’, none are planned for the future.

Also, AIDS/HIV is NOT a gay disease. I am seriously so sick of this bullshit! Yes, it was more abundant in gay individuals in the 80′s thanks to the fact that sex between two men was still seen as wrong and men were, at the time, forced to be much more secretive about their affairs. In doing so, protection was the least of their concerns, while being able to be intimate with individuals they were sexually and/or emotionally attracted to was their highest priority. Since then, the disease has flourished in, not just gays, but straights alike. Do your fucking research and don’t be so goddamn stupid.

Here is the idiotic statement made by an ignorant politician:

You know if you just look at it in practical terms, which has destroyed and ended the life of more people? Terrorism attack here in America or HIV/AIDS? In the last twenty years, fifteen to twenty years, we’ve had maybe three terrorist attacks on our soil with a little over 5,000 people regrettably losing their lives. In the same time frame, there have been hundreds of thousands who have died because of having AIDS. So which one’s the biggest threat?

And you know, every day our young people, adults too, but especially our young people, are bombarded at school, in movies, in music, on TV, in the mall, in magazines, they’re bombarded with ‘homosexuality is normal and natural.’ It’s something they have to deal with every day. Fortunately we don’t have to deal with a terrorist attack every day, and that’s what I mean.

-Sally Kearn

Listen to the audio of the above statement, below.

The reason that we are bombarded with such information in the media, is because the media is trying to give American citizens the right to be who they are and not feel badly about it, to the point of extreme actions. There are many young kids who have been victims of suicide, bullying, drug abuse, etc. based on the simple fact that they don’t feel comfortable letting people know how they truly feel. I’m not saying that all of these cases are due to homosexuality, but there are definitely quite a few. If your religious and moral beliefs make you want to belittle and refuse to acknowledge individuals based on their natural attraction to someone of the same sex, then let that be your own damn opinion; But I do NOT want and WILL not stand by and see your beliefs forced upon my actions thanks to laws that you are working to create. Go fuck yourself Ms. Kern.

Teacher Who Called Gay Marriages a Cesspool: “Do I Apologize? No”

A Social Studies teacher at Mount Dora High, Jerry Buell, was suspended awhile ago for making anti-gay comments on FaceBook. This seems shocking enough, but now the currently suspended teacher is refusing to apologize citing his First Amendment Rights.

The incident that led to Buell being suspended had been his reaction to New York’s enabling of gay couples to marry in their state. Please let me address the fact that Mr. Buell does not reside in the state of New York; He lives in Florida, like many other narcissistic and cruel individuals I’ve written about lately. An election gave the state of Florida a bad name, and a seemingly large group of people keep perpetuating that image. Shame on you Floridiots.

The advocate states that he went to FaceBook and said this:

the news left him having to “almost throw up” and that same-sex marriages are a “cesspool.”

Apparently these comments were made during the Summer and therefore, he should not be punished because it was done on personal time. Sadly, kids can still get in trouble for sex and fighting on their personal time, but school officials find THAT necessary to get involved in. When you become a teacher, you understand that children look up to you; To be so ignorant and go onto a predominantly youth based social media site, and preach such hatred while divulging your radically political beliefs, is unprofessional. In my opinion, that is.

I have to admit that I hope you’re reading this and can contain yourself from throwing up:
