Atheism and Religion: Logical Insight
As many of you may already know, I am an Atheist. This doesn’t mean I dislike people who are religious, the same as I don’t dislike Conservatives (Republicans), just disagree with some of their opinions. I have many friends and family members who believe in religion and although I think it’s harmful to society, I would never disrespect them for coming to a different conclusion than I have come to on my own. But, seeing as I am a passionate person, I like to share what I believe with others, urge them to think differently and open their minds. I encourage myself to do the same, which just so happens to be the reason I have come to this conclusion.
A friend of mine, Anastasia, wrote something the other day that I found to be pretty great. I asked her if I could share it here and would like to know what some of you think, as well as express my support for everything that was said. I have shared it exactly as it was written below:
“I’ll tell you what else is on my mind. I recently watched the episode of “Louie” where, as a child, he attends a Catholic school and the teacher brings in a doctor to explain, from a medical stand point, the process of Jesus’ crucifixion. It’s brutal and horrific, and the best piece of mind-fuckery out there. How in the world does the idea that one man being physically tortured cancels out the “sins” of the world? (more on “sins” later. okay right now- not raping people is not one of the ten commandments. not using the lord’s name in vain is. uhm. what.?) Really think about that. More importantly, think about how many people have been physically/mentally/
I know that many people are getting tired of the political and religious posts that are on Twitter, FaceBook, etc; But personally, I think it’s great that our generation is becoming so involved and choosing to think for ourselves as opposed to just take what was told to us, as truth. Granted, there are definitely many people who still do this, it’s great to know that thanks to the advancement in social media, our generation is able to meet people who share the same views, values, morals, etc. and are open to discussing how they could be right and/or wrong.
Thank you Anastasia for allowing me to share your message and I hope others can see the humanity in your words as opposed to the “religious attack” you made “against” them.

[VIDEO] Sh*t Christians Say
First of all, I just want to make a point of mentioning that this is sarcasm and I don’t feel that all Christians say or act like this. Being religious is your personal choice and being non-religious, is mine. This video made me laugh and does portray how many extreme Christians act, at least from what I have seen, being a lesbian. If you can’t find the humor, then I suggest you lighten up a bit and don’t take yourself so seriously. The only judgment you’re allowed to make….oh wait! As a Christian, you shouldn’t be judging me, because that’s God‘s job…
I had to get in on the fun before the “Shit _____ Say” meme completely falls from grace. Yay God!

New Study Proves Lesbians To Be Better Parents
I initially wanted to post this to gloat about the fact that lesbians are better parents than, well, everyone! And to be honest, that’s still the reason I decided to post this. For all of you Conservative folks who believe that homosexuals are the people corrupting society, I’d like for you to crawl off your fucking high horse and explain this:
The U.S. National Longitudinal Lesbian Family Study (NLLFS) just released its resultson its 24-year long study on families with lesbian parents, finding that not one of the 78 adolescents in the study had reported being sexually or physically abused by their parents. This compares to 26% of American adolescents overall who report parent or caregiver physical abuse. 8.3% report sexual abuse.
What?! The lesbians aren’t beating, molesting or raping their children?! Then they must be turning them all gay, right? I mean, there has to be some sort of explanation about why lesbians can’t be loving parents who raise normal children in a normal environment (minus a penis as head of household).
Additionally, only 2.8% of the adolescents in the study identified themselves as gay. Apparently the majority of them didn’t catch their parents’ gayness.
Oh shit…. a lot of them turn out straight too?! Okay, so far, it seems as though the most well-rounded children who have not been abused come from lesbian households. This must mean that whatever the lesbians in this country are doing for their children is working and providing them with a wonderful home to grow and develop within. Sadly, this is so far from what many children in this country have, yet their parents are more respect in the eyes of government. How pathetic.
If half the kids in this country had parents with such results, we may have a more prosperous and less emotionally disturbed society. Unfortunately, there are far too many people who would still fight for gays and lesbians to not be allowed to raise children because it is ‘immoral’ and ‘sacrilegious’, despite the findings of this study. People who choose to ignore the facts and fight for morality (which I feel is a matter of opinion) are the people who have been trusted to lead this country, yet don’t represent a huge group of people who bring greatness to this country. For that, I am embarrassed and unenthusiastic.

New NASA Data Blow Gaping Hole In Global Warming Alarmism
While this news of global warming is good, I also have some fears of how it will affect the positive changes we’ve been making in our environment. I hate to make this issue of global warming a political one, but I am afraid that’s what I feel it is at this point. Since the introduction of global warming, liberals have more so believed that it was occurring, while conservatives, well, were right. I’m afraid that the changes we have made to improve the quality of life here on Earth have been moving forward due to the understanding that global warming was occurring, and was an issue that needed to be addressed. With the new findings, I’m afraid that the conservatives would rather not move forward with such issues because they don’t affect our immediate future, and they would rather see their money spent elsewhere or remain safely in their own pockets.
Anyway, onto the article that sparked this blog:
NASA satellite data from the years 2000 through 2011 show the Earth’s atmosphere is allowing far more heat to be released into space than alarmist computer models have predicted, reports a new study in the peer-reviewed science journal Remote Sensing. The study indicates far less future global warming will occur than United Nations computer models have predicted, and supports prior studies indicating increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide trap far less heat than alarmists have claimed.
“The satellite observations suggest there is much more energy lost to space during and after warming than the climate models show,” Spencer said in a July 26 University of Alabama press release. “There is a huge discrepancy between the data and the forecasts that is especially big over the oceans.”
In addition to finding that far less heat is being trapped than alarmist computer models have predicted, the NASA satellite data show the atmosphere begins shedding heat into space long before United Nations computer models predicted.
The new findings are extremely important and should dramatically alter the global warming debate.
When objective NASA satellite data, reported in a peer-reviewed scientific journal, show a “huge discrepancy” between alarmist climate models and real-world facts, climate scientists, the media and our elected officials would be wise to take notice. Whether or not they do so will tell us a great deal about how honest the purveyors of global warming alarmism truly are.

51st state: ‘South California’ secession proposal unanimously approved for discussion at summit – latimes.com
I’m glad that they are aware that this proposal will go nowhere, but it still seems silly to waste time on something so far out of reach. I’m only saying this because I think it’s ridiculous, but because it is a waste of time, energy and money.
According to the Los Angeles Times:
South California, the proposed 51st state to the union, a long-shot concept that would see 13 California counties secede from the Golden State, was unanimously approved by the Riverside County Board of Directors Tuesday for more discussion and debate.
I’m looking forward to see how long that drag this issue out and glad that my county has been left out due to uninterested parties, on both sides I assume.
