Samsung’s Hialrious Sense of Humor: Pays Apple $1 Billion in 5 Cents Coins

samsung-pays-apple-1-billion-sending-30-truck-L-guLcKc

UPDATE: Okay, while I wish this story was true, it unfortunately, is not. This rumor started spreading yesterday and has since been debunked as a troll. The post, as far as I can tell, was originally posted HERE, a Mexican site that is similar to The Onion. In fact, I don’t believe we have enough nickels in circulation to even make this possible. At the very least, this was a very funny story that I wish were true. It’d be nice to have someone give Apple a little ass kickin’

Original story below:

Apple was surprised when they had over 30 trucks pull up to their headquarters in Cupertino, CA this morning. The security team had initially thought that the trucks were there by mistake, but shortly after their arrival, Tim Cook (Apple CEO) received a call from Samsung CEO that explained they would pay $1 billion dollars for the fine recently ruled against the South Korean company, in this way.

The document which was signed never expressed which method of payment Samsung CEO must use to deliver the funds, so he decided to give Apple a taste of their own medicine. Apple will now have to waste time, money and resources counting the money and ensuring it is has all been accounted for. Along with that, they must find a bank that is willing to take such an interesting deposit.

Lee Kun-hee, Chairman of Samsung Electronics, told the media that his company is not going to be intimidated by a group of “geeks with style” and that if they want to play dirty, they also know how to do it.

You can use your coins to buy refreshments at the little machine for life or melt the coins to make computers, that’s not my problem, I already paid them and fulfilled the law.

[VIDEO] The iDermal: Body Piercer Implants Magnets To Keep iPod Nano Accessible

Screen shot 2012-05-11 at 2.08.52 PM

As much as I love my Apple products, I don’t know if I would go to the lengths that body piercer, Dave Hurban, has gone.

In this video, it shows the process of implanting the magnets and ultimately being able to attach his iPod Nano to his wrist without any accessories. Hurban works at Dynasty Tattoo, is from Newfield, N.J., and with the help of  Kaledioscope Kreative, has produced the video below.

[VIDEO] Google’s ‘Project Glass’ Demo

googleglasses-courtesy1

This is the first look at Google’s ‘Project Glass’ which would implement a contemporary eyewear that also functions as a full social media connection. Here, you see what Google hopes the glasses will be implemented into the daily lives of those who use them. If the functionality is as fluid as this video makes it seem, I will most certainly be purchasing a pair of these…without a doubt. Luckily, it is assumed that they will be premiering later this year, well, in beta form, that is.

People who’ve actually seen the glasses told  The New York Times that they will create a new layer for the Internet where companies can stream digital advertising possibly even layered over competitors’ real world ads. The Times also speculated how facial recognition may play a role in the glasses’ core functions, matching peoples’ faces with social network profiles for instant connections between new acquaintances.

Making these glasses a reality will most certainly give Apple someone to compete with and bring most of society into a new age, simliar to that of the cartoon, ‘The Jetsons‘. In fact, this is far beyond what I could have imagined being the reality while I was alive, but it is 100%, something I am excited to incorporate into my life. While technology can inhibit us, it can also give us advantages and simplicity that we couldn’t have dreamt of obtaining. Rather than encouraging laziness by allowing us to sit at home on the computer and removing the idea of detaching from social situations to communicate via a mobile device , it provides a more seamless connection to the internet that gets people out and about and doing things they may have forgotten they enjoyed, during the sitting social media age.

[VIDEO] Funny Spoof: Siri Argument

See all the CollegeHumor Original Videos here.

Everyone has really enjoyed poking fun at the Apple iPhone 4S’ new program ‘SIRI‘. Everything from her voice to the answers she provides have been a great deal of entertainment for many, but now someone took it a step further and made a great spoof on the popular addition. If only it allowed you to say things via text as opposed to putting it into writing, the sarcasm and connotation could be identified much better. Oh wait, we do have that capability…making a phone call.

Sadly,  I’m one of those people who would rather my tone not be reflected and get myself into trouble, than picking up a phone and making an actual call. It’s not that I’m lazy, it’s that I’m awkward at finding a good moment to say goodbye, and would rather not be put in that position. Obviously, I have to talk on the phone and would like to stop being such a pussy, but technology is making too easy.

Westboro Baptist Church To Protest Steve Jobs’ Funeral

The sick and twisted individuals that make up the Westboro Baptist Church have set to protest yet ANOTHER funeral. This time though, it’s the man who created the iPhone, the iPod, the iPad, as well as so much more. In fact, even Margie J Phelps herself uses the device created by the man she’s protesting! What hypocritical, ignorant, wastes of humanity.

YAHOO -

Westboro Baptist Church–best known for its reviled anti-gay protests of American soldiers’ funerals–announced last night on Twitter that its members will be picketing the funeral of Apple founder Steve Jobs.

“He had a huge platform; gave God no glory & taught sin,” Westboro leader Margie Phelps tweeted–from her iPhone.

Let’s hope that Phelps has managed to resist her own iPhone’s magical powers to “teach sin.”

Steve Jobs Has Officially Died!!!

Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple Inc., has been reported as dead. On Apple’s Home Page, there is a dedication to the man that made Apple what it has become today, the richest company in America and the only true competitor in technology advancement.

From the Wall Street Journal -

“Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives,” Apple said in a statement. “The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.”

His family, in a separate statement, said Mr. Jobs “died peacefully today surrounded by his family…We know many of you will mourn with us, and we ask that you respect our privacy during our time of grief.”

During his more than three decade-long career, Mr. Jobs transformed Silicon Valley as he helped turn the once sleepy expanse of fruit orchards into the technology industry’s innovation center. In addition to laying the groundwork for the modern high-tech industry alongside other pioneers like Microsoft Corp. co-founder Bill Gates and Oracle Corp. founder Larry Ellison, Mr. Jobs proved the appeal of well-designed intuitive products over the sheer power of technology itself and shifted the way consumers interact with technology in an increasingly digital world.

Unlike those men, however, the most productive chapter in Mr. Jobs’ career occurred near the end of his life, when a nearly unbroken string of innovative and wildly successful products like the iPod, iPhone and iPad fundamentally changed the PC, electronics and digital media industries. The way he marketed and sold those products through savvy advertising campaigns and its retail stores, in the meanwhile, helped turn the company into a pop culture icon.
