Gang Drowned Pony And Horrified Onlookers
A group of 12 men and boys were seen pushing a pony, attached to a trap, into the eight-feet deep lake. Although there was one 21-year-old walker who came across the incident and attempted to help; He was kicked in the head by the terrified animal and knocked unconscious. Authorities are now searching for the thugs that did this.
Apparently, the group of twelve was also seen beating the animal with sticks:
Officers are also investigating reports the yobs used sticks to beat the two-year-old piebald cob pony as it tried desperately to haul itself out of Hawley Lake, near Farnborough, Hampshire, on Saturday afternoon.
Hampshire Police also launched a joint investigation with the RSPCA to find those responsible.
Sophie Wilkinson, of the RSPCA, said: ‘It’s an extremely cruel and shocking thing that these people have done and we have no idea why they did it.
‘It seems a gang of 12 men and boys lined up three ponies and traps and tried to force them into the water – they succeeded with this one.’
Police spokesman Alan Smith added: ‘When the attempt to push a second and third pony into the lake failed, the group of people drove them and their traps away in the direction of Yateley.
‘There were a number of people around at the time including dog walkers and fishermen and we would like to hear from witnesses.’

Hollywood Reporter – Early reports out of Belgium and Holland Thursday are claiming that six people were killed and others injured as a tent collapsed at an annual music festival called Pukkelpop.
The BBC is now reporting four were killed, details are still emerging as to number of dead and injured.
According to Holland’s Trouw.com, one of the tents where a band was playing was blown down after a storm, resulting in chaos and injuries.
Per Belgian radio station Studio Brussel, ambulances have been in and out of the festival and the remainder of today’s festival has been canceled.
The sudden storm Thursday caused the Chateau Tent, where American band Smith Westerns played, or were about to play, to collapse. The band wrote on Twitter: “Stage collapsed max almost got crushed by the tress, I hope pukkelpop has insurance bc all our [stuff] is broke.”
A brief but fierce storm produced strong winds and large hail which brought down trees, per reports. Additionally, a sound tower beside the main stage came loose.
The annual festival’s lineup this year includes many American bands, including 30 Seconds to Mars, Foo Fighters and Rise Against.
Jared Leto tweeted that “four stages were down” and that it was “still raining” Thursday from the festival. “Be safe,” he added.

But Brynne, from Phoenix, Arizona, is one of a new breed of qualified teenage demon slayers, who answered a call when the Church made the admission of there being a worldwide exorcist shortage.
But despite drastic efforts, supply has still not met demand for the controversial ceremony.
The Vatican’s chief exorcist Father Gabriele Amorth, 85, has revealed that he alone has dealt with 70,000 cases of demonic possession.
So if the forces of darkness start getting the upper hand, who should you call? Evangelist Reverend Bob Larson of Spiritual Freedom Churches International – and his remarkable school for exorcists.
‘Think of it more of an exorcist franchise,’ Rev Larson tells MailOnline exclusively.
‘The Church just can’t keep up with demand. But I have 100 teams of trained exorcists working all over the world, and outbreaks of demonic possession are getting out of control.
‘Our phone lines are ringing constantly – we receive up to 1,000 individual requests monthly, and we travel to countries like Africa, Ukraine, England and even Australia.’
But while his teams include exorcists aged up to 70, one group of his protégées are causing waves in the religious community. They are teenage girls.
Savannah Scherkenback, 19, and her sister Tess, 16, are Rev Larson’s latest graduates from his school for exorcists.
‘We have found that our female, teenage exorcists are particularly effective at curing the possessed,’ says Rev Larson, whose daughter Brynne is a supernaturally talented exorcist.

Dailymail – The ‘hacktivists’, infamous for meddling with the American government and for their support for WikiLeaks, have announced that they will focus on bringing down the social networking site because of its privacy policy.
Although most of the sites they have been involved in bringing down have had much less traffic than Facebook, they seem confident that they will succeed. Whether they will or not, will not be determined until November 5th. Seeing that they have been successful in the past is what is a bit unnerving and making people pay close attention.

Chinese Boy Kept As Slave By Uncle: Chained Up With Dog
Dismal: Cai Changqing is chained in a shabby shelter every day - and it's claimed that it's for his own good
Cai Changqingis is a twelve-year-old boy who is being chained up in the yard by his Uncle, Cai Quan. According to Quan, he started chaining the boy up two years ago, after he ran away into traffic and was run over by a car.
Changqingis has been diagnosed as mentally handicapped and his uncle said he doesn’t know how to keep him around without running off, so this was his solution. The poor boy, is chained outside with the dog, naked. The chain is 16 feet and only allows him to roam around the dirty yard.
The Uncle is taking care of the boy (hardly), because his mother has died and his father was left paralyzed after an accident and can no longer care for his handicapped child.
Sadly, this isn’t the first case of children being chained. Last year, in December, “pictures emerged of 12-year-old twins Li Luqin and Li Shuangqin tied up by their father Li Wancheng in Yunnan Province. He began binding them ten years ago for fear they would hurt themselves.”

‘Heterosexual Pride Day’ in São Paulo

Councilors in São Paulo, Brazil, have taken it upon themselves to introduce ‘Heterosexual Pride Day’, one that will rival the many ‘Homosexual Pride Days’ that are held throughout the city. The city is split as to whether they agree with this move or not. Many complain that this is a blatant excuse for homophobia, while others disagree and feel it’s their right to celebrate who they are, as well.
The man behind the move, Carlos Apolinário of the right-wing Democrats Party, said he didn’t want a parade to celebrate heterosexuality on the third Sunday of December, the day chosen to mark the occasion. He did, however, feel compelled to make a symbolic move to shore up Brazil’s eroding “morals.”
Mr. Apolinário, who has the support of Brazil’s powerful Protestant church lobby, said, “The creation of Heterosexual Day does not symbolize a struggle against gays but against what I believe are excesses and privileges.”
The decision to pass this bill or not will be made by the Mayor of São Paulo, Gilberto Kassab. While there is a huge gay scene in this city, there is also the threat of homophobia, and this is the reason many homosexuals are worried it will widen the gap between both communities.
The legislation comes just a few weeks after a conservative congressman in the capital Brasilia courted controversy by apparently calling blacks promiscuous, and then declaring himself proud to be prejudiced against gays. And last month a group of youths attacked and maimed a father they thought was gay because he hugged his teenage son.
A homosexual is killed every 36 hours in Brazil, according to the Gay Group of Bahia, Brazil’s oldest homosexual rights organization. The number of gays killed has risen 113 percent over the last five years, the group said.
Last surviving man to be sent to Nazi concentration camps for being homosexual dies aged 98
Dailymail - The last surviving person to be sent to a Nazi concentration camp because of his homosexuality has died in France aged 98, campaigners said today.
Rudolf Brazda died peacefully in his sleep yesterday at the old people’s home in Bantzenheim, eastern France when had lived in recent years, Germany’s Lesbian and Gay Association, or LSVD, said.
Mr Brazda was born in 1913 and grew up in the eastern German town of Meuselwitz. There he repeatedly clashed with Nazi authorities over his homosexuality before being sent to the Buchenwald camp.
Nazi Germany declared homosexuality an aberration that threatened the German race. An estimated 10,000 to 15,000 gay men were deported to concentration camps where few survived.
After Mr Brazda was sent to the concentration camp in August 1942 he was held there until its liberation by U.S. forces in 1945.
Following the war he moved to Alsace, the eastern French region that borders Germany, and lived there until his death.
When a memorial to the Nazis’ gay victims was unveiled in Berlin in 2008, the LSVD said it knew of no more surviving ex-prisoners.
They believed that the last surviving prisoner had died three years previously.
But the group said today that after the memorial was unveiled, they were contacted by Mr Brazda, who visited the memorial at its invitation. He became an honorary member of the group.
Mr Brazda was awarded France’s Legion of Honour in April this year as his plight during the war was commended by campaigners.
‘Rudolf passed on peacefully in his sleep at dawn on August 3′ at an old people’s hospital in Bantzenheim, eastern France, said Philippe Couillet, a friend and associate of the deceased.
French local officials said that Brazda will be buried next Monday in Mulhouse in eastern France.
Tens of thousands of people were convicted under Nazi Germany’s laws that made homosexual acts a crime.
Those who were sent to concentration camps had to wear a pink triangle on their prison clothes that identified them as homosexual.
Berlin’s openly gay mayor, Klaus Wowereit, who met Brazda in 2008, said he learned with regret of his death.
‘He is an example of how important the work of remembrance is for our future,’ Wowereit said.
‘Fewer and fewer people can give information about repression under the Nazi dictatorship authentically and from their own experience.’
Nazi concentration camps were set up across Germany by the party’s leader, Adolf Hitler. Jews, political prisoners, criminals gypsies and the mentally ill were also among those sent to the camps.

Feds Bust Huge Online Child Porn Forum

The feds put an end to an online child porn forum that was rewarding members with status, provided they add more images (that they produced themselves) or providing images that hadn’t been seen before. Obviously, this implies that they are given a higher status based on how often they molested children and shared the images with the forum. This is sickening and I’m glad that it was brought to the fed’s attention. Here is a bit from the press release:
Dreamboard members were divided into groups based on status and ranking. The highest level of membership was “Super VIP.”. Individuals who obtained that title had created new images of child pornography by molesting children and shared those images with the board administrators. The next level of membership was “Super VIP,” which was comprised of trusted members of the website. The next level after Super VIP was the VIP rank. Individuals in the lowest level of membership were called Members. Those in the lower ranks could only access a limited quantity of child pornography on the bulletin board. The higher the rank, the more material was available to the member. Individuals advanced to higher levels of membership by providing child abuse images that the individual had produced, providing a large number of images, or providing images that had never been seen before.
As far as how many people were involved, there are more than a hundred, but about 72 individuals that were charged, and 52, arrested.
Thirteen of the 52 individuals arrested have pleaded guilty. To date, 20 of the 72 charged individuals remain at large and are known only by their online identities. Efforts to identify and apprehend these individuals continue.

The World’s Most Humane Prison
The maximum sentence in Norway, even for murder, is 21 years. Since most inmates will eventually return to society, prisons mimic the outside world as much as possible to prepare them for freedom. At Halden, rooms include en-suite bathrooms with ceramic tiles, mini-fridges and flat-screen TVs. Officials say sleeker televisions afford inmates less space to hide drugs and other contraband. I came across this prison in Norway, while reading an article about the confessed murdered, Anders Behring Breivik. There was speculation that he might be able to serve his time in one of the most enjoyable prisons out there. Although this was rumored, it is way more likely that he will be spending his days in the “Ila prison, which is less cushy than Halden, but still “a far cry” from the bare cells of American prisons.” In fact, this is where he currently has been spending time since his arrest, with little comfort. Breivik is in a cell with a toilet, table and chair. This seems more fitting than the prison that has become known as the most humane.

The documentary photographer Alex Masi writes that the cells in Halden are equipped “with an en-suite bathroom, a flat-screen TV and various comforts. They measure 12 [square meters--about 129 square feet] and are divided up into units (10 to 12) which share a living room and kitchen,” much like a college dorm. Time Magazine described the cells as resembling an Ikea showroom, complete with “stainless-steel countertops, wraparound sofas and birch-colored coffee tables.”
The art budget for the facility came in at more than a million dollars, Masi says, while the cells are brightly painted and lack bars on the windows. Inmates take specialty cooking classes or choose from many other courses at an in-prison high school. They can jog around the 75-acre wooded facility or even climb on the prison’s rock walls.
According to Time, prison guards are required to help each inmate make his sentence “as meaningful, enlightening and rehabilitating as possible.” About half of the prison guards are women, since research has suggested that a corps of female guards can help reduce aggression among the prison population. The unarmed guards eat meals and play games with prisoners.
According to Raf Sanchez at the Telegraph, the region’s governor, Are Hoidal, said at the prison’s opening ceremony that prisons should focus on “human rights and respect.”
“We want to build them up, give them confidence through education and work and have them leave as better people,” he said.
Sanchez adds that only 20 percent of Norwegian prisoners return to jail within two years of their release, a very low recidivism rate. (For comparison, a 1994 study suggested that more than 60 percent of released prisoners in America were arrested again within three years, while 51.8 percent returned to prison. The U.S. rate of incarceration also dwarfs Norway’s.)
According to Foreign Policy’s Robert Zeliger, most murderers in Norway serve 14 years or less. A criminal may only be sentenced to 21 years before the government must evaluate him or her for release. Those still deemed a threat to society receive an addition five-year sentence before undergoing another evaluation. “Life without parole” is not an option.

Recording Artists There's also a recording studio with a professional mixing board. Security guards organize activities from 8:00 in the morning until 8:00 in the evening. It's a chance for inmates to pick up a new hobby, but it's also a part of the prison's dynamic security strategy: occupied prisoners are less likely to lash out at guards and one another.
