Virginia Tech University On Lockdown After Two People Are Killed, Including One Police Officer
Virginia Tech University is a widely known campus, mainly due to the massacre that had occurred here on April 16th, 2007. Well today, the school is facing yet another shooter, one who has already killed two people.
The school said the suspect is at large and students are being told, “Stay indoors. Secure in place.”
An alert on the Virginia Tech school’s website said: “There is an active campus alert in Blacksburg. Everyone should seek shelter or stay where you are. Blacksburg Transit service is suspended until the alert is lifted.”
A school police officer was performing a routine traffic stop around noon at the school’s Coliseum parking lot, near McComas Hall.
“During the traffic stop. the officer was shot and killed. There were witnesses to this shooting,” Owczarski said in the statement.
“Witnesses reported to police the shooter fled on foot heading toward the Cage, a parking lot near Duck Pond Drive. At that parking lot, a second person was found. That person is also deceased,” he said.
The suspect is still on the loose and there has been a description given to everyone, in case they encounter the individual. The man is apparently a white male who is wearing gray sweatpants, a gray hat with neon green on the brim, a maroon hoodie along with a backpack.
Although the last day of classes was yesterday, Wednesday, some students are still on the premises because it is Reading Day, a day of studying. All students and faculty are being urged to stay inside until the police have the situation under control.

FDA Approves Cure For The Hangover Epidemic: Who Said Hangovers Should Stop You
Many of us are very familiar with a hangover. In fact, I know that just about all of my fiends are hung over as I’m writing this article. I can remember my first ever hang over (back in high school regardless of it being illegal) and it was just about the worst experience of my life.
My head felt like there were creatures crawling around inside, my stomach was a battleground, and even the thought of getting off the couch literally made me cower with fear. If someone were to tell me I could cure all of these symptoms and get out there to enjoy Saturday night, I probably would have contemplated a thank you fuck.
Luckily, for those of you who love to get absolutely wasted without the consequences, there is a cure!
The FDA has officially approved an over-the-counter drug called Blowfish, which contains 1,000 milligrams of aspirin, 120 milligrams of caffeine and a stomach-soothing agent in the form of two dissolving tablets. The new drug is taken like Alka-Seltzer and is said to help ease hangover symptoms within as little as 15 to 30 minutes.
“So many people see hangovers as a shameful or embarrassing thing. I think of them as just a fact of life,” said Brenna Haysom, the creator of Blowfish through the West Village-based Rally Labs LLC.
“The magic of the effervescent tablet is that it hits your system much faster than getting a cup of coffee, taking an antacid and taking some aspirin separately,” she said.
The remedy doesn’t give free reign to binge, however. “I definitely don’t encourage people to get obliterated,” warned Haysom, who has been hung up on hangovers since college.
“This is a really effective product for people who have a couple too many: A happy hour that goes a little long, or holiday parties are a perfect example … and they wake up feeling terrible. This gets you functioning again quickly.”
Sadly, I don’t really know whether aspirin and caffeine is a good enough combination to fix the horrible effects of getting obliterated the night before, but it is a glimmer of hope. And if this in any way helps anyone be more productive, than hell, why not?!

[VIDEO] Two Officers Suspended After UC David Pepper-Spraying Incident
Friday Nov. 18th at 4:54 PM officers were caught on video pepper-spraying the peaceful protesters on UC Davis‘ campus after they refused to get out of the way for police.
Shortly after this video was releases, many people from all over had come together to speak out on behalf of the students and against the police who were shown implementing the pepper spray in this video. UC Davis and Chancellor had received negative feedback over this incident and decided they must take action.
In a statement, school Chancellor Linda Katehi announced that the officers were on administrative leave. She also said that she accepted ‘full responsibility’ for Friday’s incident.
Unfortunately, many people had hoped that this announcement would include her resignation, which it did not.
Witnesses watched in horror as police moved in on more than a dozen tents erected in the campus quad drenching demonstrators with the burning yellow spray and arresting 10 people, nine of them students.
Although UC Davis had not named the officers, one of them has been identified locally as Lt John Pike.
In the latest statement Ms Katehi said: ‘I spoke with students this weekend, and I feel their outrage. ‘I have also heard from an overwhelming number of students, faculty, staff and alumni from around the country.
‘I am deeply saddened that this happened on our campus, and as chancellor, I take full responsibility for the incident.
Mea Culpa: Linda Katehi, the chancellor of the University of California, Davis on Sunday accepted full responsibility but did not step down
But despite widespread calls for her resignation, the chancellor still refused to budge.
The statement continued: ‘I pledge to take the actions needed to ensure that this does not happen again.’
‘I feel very sorry for the harm our students were subjected to and I vow to work tirelessly to make the campus a more welcoming and safe place.’
Katehi said the investigation into the events surrounding the arrests, including communications from the police to the administration had been accelerated with a deadline of 30 days for the task force to issue its report.
The students were showing their support of Occupy Wall Street which has gained recognition all around the world. Their right to protest peacefully was threatened when police took advantage of their strength in being determined to sit there and stand up for what they believed in.
The moving protest was held in support of the overall Occupy Wall Street movement and in solidarity with protesters at the University of California, Berkeley who were jabbed by police with batons on November 9.
The school faculty association had demanded the chancellor’s resignation, saying that her authorisation of police force represented ‘a gross failure of leadership’.
A statement released by the Davis faculty board said: ‘Given the recent use of excessive force by police against ‘occupy’ protestors at UC Berkeley and elsewhere, the Chancellor must have anticipated that, by authorizing police action, she was effectively authorizing their use of excessive force against peaceful UCD student protestors.
This seems like a rather strong statement. Why would you need police to be prevalent at a unified peaceful protest on your campus? The students were doing nothing wrong and sitting quietly to show they supported their peers at other campuses that had endured the negativity of the police.
Sadly, the pepper spraying incident just adds fuel to the fire and proves that these students are out here for the right reason. They have the right to make their complaints known to those in charge and not persecuted for voicing them. It is wrong for the police to use such brutality when nothing is being done. other than the refusal to move from where they were protesting.

Enroll Now! Baylor University’s “Homosexuality As Gateway Drug” Filling Up Fast!
This seems too stupid to actually be real; Unfortunately, it’s not, and I have too much faith in people, well, immoral religious people, I should say. Please don’t assume that my last sentence means I feel all religious people are immoral, it simply means I feel the religious leaders at this school are immoral. And trust me, I don’t need to know much else about their morals or ethics outside of this course listing, because the simple fact they titled a course in this manner is proof enough for how they must act.

Hey Baylor University students! There’s no better time to fulfill your sociology credit than now because come Spring 2012 the Christian school will offer “Homosexuality as Gateway Drug,” a course that we assume will discuss how gayness leads to being awesome. Or not…
Hearing the original class title we assumed it would teach how homosexuality leads to using drugs like poppers and ABBA. Or about how tolerance towards homosexuals leads to tolerance of other minorities. Or it could just be a boring course with tons of dry reading. We called the school for a clearer course description; no response.
But apparently, the school quietly changed the course title to Family Studies after a bunch of blogs started blabbing about it.

Olympic champion gymnast ‘attacked cabbie, refused to pay fare and threatened to kill officers who arrested him’
What is with all these pro athletes acting like dumb asses? I mean, first we have the almost Olympic snowboarder who pisses on a young girl during a flight and refuses to apologize, and now this? You guys are dicks. Sure, you’re good at sports and we enjoy watching you, but this is so much more entertaining. Your misery provides much more laughter than your accomplishments. So, I guess I should actually be thrilled that you act like such spoiled little shits.
Olympic gymnastics champion Paul Hamm has been accused of hitting and kicking a taxi driver, damaging a cab window and refusing to pay a $23 fare.
As Hamm, 28 sat handcuffed in a police cruiser after the incident in suburban Columbus, he can be heard in a video asking officers to let him go and saying, ‘I don’t understand. I’m gonna kill you guys.’
$23?! Holy hell, this story just got that much more interesting. Even I would pay $23 and I am severely broke at this point in time. Apparently he had 8 drinks and that’s the reason for his explosive behavior. Again, 8 drinks?! What a pussy. I mean, yes, that is excessive but is no excuse to beat the crap out of a cab driver who is bringing your rich Olympian ass home. And now that $23 cab ride has turned into a much more hefty fine due to the physical assault and threats of murdering police officers.
Seeing as he’s been training for the upcoming Olympics in London and working as an assistant coach at Ohio State, there may or may not be repercussions for his actions as far as his sports career is concerned. Luckily, he has a twin brother who could always take his place and win the Gold for him, as we learned with the young Hockey brothers! Although, they should have learned from this to NOT be honest and all will be okay
VIDEO: College Student Schools Rick Santorum on His Ludicrous Gay Marriage Position
This is by far one of the best videos I have seen in awhile. A student at Penn State chooses to stand up to Mr. Rick Santorum in regards to his beliefs about Homosexuality, and the effects they have on society. He asked for evidence which proves that children who grow up in same-sex household are okay and then dismisses it saying that there ‘is none’. At this point a brave student who admits she does not know of specific studies, fights back against his judgmental and, in my opinion, immoral beliefs.
He seems upset that Piers Morgan called him a bigot and explains how this was said only to tarnish his image, but not because it was valid. I’m sorry Mr. Santorum, but Mr. Morgan was absolutely correct in his description. A bigot, according to Merriam-Webster is “a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance “
You do not tolerate homosexuals and by not allowing them the freedom to get married and bear children, you are treating them with hatred. You are set set in your own opinions (regardless of the fact that they also happen to be the opinions of the Catholic Church), and you judge us based on a belief that the church put in place hundreds of years ago. Not only do I think you’re a bigot, but now I must admit that I think you are an ignorant and proud asshole as well.
