For those of you who haven’t yet seen the racist rant video, this is the original that went viral and got national attention:
These girls have recently been dismissed from Gainesville High School in Gainesville, Florida and are receiving death threats from multiple people.
Last week, eight police officers were brought to the campus in light of death threats the girls were receiving in response to their videos.
David Shelnutt, the principal at the school, didn’t go into too much detail, but did voice that they were no longer welcome at the school.
The girls and one of their parents issued a formal apology in the paper Monday:
“I am one of the girls who were in the racist video that got posted. I’m writing this so that I can tell people how truly sorry I am. I could never, in a million years, have pictured this happening with me involved. I wasn’t raised to hate people for their race, and I still don’t. I made a horrible decision in being a part of this video … “
The other girl’s mother made this statement in regards to the incident:
Santaluces High School, in Lantana, Florida is now wondering they will have to remove these two students and watch out for death threats. I sure hope so. There should be no leniency when it comes to recording a racist rant (even if it is just for attention) and posting it on the internet.
Looks like Florida has more to be embarrassed about here in 2012. First Casey Anthony, now this?!

man. i browse the occasional news site at work and while I certainly have my problem with what passes for journalism these days, you can only fault the news sites so much when it’s the people who generate these kind of stories and in turn want to read and see this kind of news. but worse, far worse than the horrible things these young girls are, for lack of a better set of words, “impossibly and completely brain-dead” enough to make, is the people who comment on them. the internet brings many things. online you can get news and information on almost any subject in the world in just a few quick keystrokes. but it also brings anonymity. and it’s anonymity that let’s evil, stupid, selfish children post comments like “those girls just did what they feel !!!”
read the comment above mine for the quote. i won’t spare another word on what this perfect example of a waste of life has written.
and i’m going to say it’s because of the anonymity the web provides us that allows people like mr. or ms “miami 8.8″ to spout whatever kind of ignorant, inbred filth that comes out of their mouths. because there are NO repercussions. personally? i hope the girls in the above video get forcefully ejected from school and learn to grow up REALLY quick in the face of the death threats and hate mail they receive. in the real world, there are consequences for your actions.
if you, “miami 8.8″ have ever read a book, passed 4th grade, had a strong enough understanding to spell like a normal human, then i imagine you’d understand my point. african americans, caucasians… they’re just words. try education. learning something. it has beneficial consequences, and if you knew anything at all, then random strangers wouldn’t take a moment out of their day to point out your racist, evil and poorly written rant.
