‘Dying man has new lease on life after his immune system is trained to kill cancer with reconstructed form of HIV’
If you’re one who believes that ‘everything happens for a reason’, then this is definitely a great example of that. First cancer was introduced than the notorious HIV/AIDS and the idea that using one could get rid of the other, is simply remarkable. Scientists should be incredibly proud of the work that they’ve done lately on advancements for curing both cancer and HIV/AIDS.
A New Jersey man diagnosed with leukaemia has a new lease on life after taking a gamble on an experimental cancer treatment that saw him injected with a harmless form of HIV.
Bill Ludwig, 65, is one of only three patients who have received the groundbreaking treatment at the University of Pennsylvania for the most common form of leukaemia, called CLL.
And the results are so incredible researchers believe it could mark the beginning of a major advance in cancer treatment.

The New York Times reports the research team, led by Dr Carl June, removed from the patients white blood cells that normally fight infections and genetically engineered them with a reconstructed and disabled form of HIV-1 by selecting DNA from humans, mice and cows, a virus that infects woodchucks, and one that infects cows.
The infusions were then returned to the patient; and because the virus infects T-cells – a white blood cell that fights viruses and tumours – and alters the T-cells to reproduce chimeric antigen receptors, protein complexes turn into ‘serial killers’ that attach to and eradicate cancer cells.

Mr Ludwig, a retired corrections officer from Bridgeton, New Jersey, was the first patient to undergo the experimental treatment.
Doctors estimate it killed two pounds of cancer cells in his blood.
Dr June said that, ‘The patient then becomes a bioreactor,’ experiencing flu-like symptoms as T-cells were producing chemicals called cytokines, as Mr Ludwig did.
After a few weeks, however, his symptoms were gone – and so was his leukaemia.
Mr Ludwig said he feels renewed. In less than 12 month’s time he’s back on the green, playing his favourite sport – golf. ‘I have my life back,’ he said.

Doctors cannot say Mr Ludwig is cured, as it has been less than a year since the operation. However, the altered T-cells are built to multiply and live on, in theory, fighting off potential relapses.
Dr June said two other patients had been successfully treated using this type of gene therapy.
One patient experienced full remission; another patient experienced partial remission.
But the results far exceeded his expectations.
Dr June told MSNBC.com: ‘The results exceeded our expectations quite a bit. Our entire team is really excited. And as well, the patients are excited.’
Reconstructed HIV has been used to treat other diseases but has never before been used to treat cancer.
New research looks promising; Dr June said money from drug companies has poured in since the results. He plans on next testing his team’s treatment against solid tumours, including hard-to-treat cancers like mesothelioma and ovarian and pancreatic cancer.
Asshole Bodybuilder Throws Dog To Its Death From 3rd Floor
Milan Rysa, 30, is the piece of shit that has “allegedly” thrown his dog, Brooklyn, from a 3rd story onto the street below. The Chinese Shar-Pei was seen by witnesses being hurled out of the apartment in New York at around 9:00pm. They had also mentioned that he was listening to loud music during the incident.
Although Rysa is claiming he was asleep the whole time, police won’t be too quick to overlook the statements made by witnesses.
A shocked onlooker said: ‘I saw it coming out the window,
‘I heard the yelp when it hit the ground. I heard the thud. It just missed a woman.’
Rysa allegedly looked out of the window and on seeing a crowd gathering near Brooklyn’s broken body, turned off the music and the apartment’s lights.
I am absolutely disgusted by this man. Although this will be the last incident you heard about, there were plenty more that his neighbors have opened up about. The sad thing is nobody said anything to anyone before this all took place. Brooklyn could have possibly been rescued and given to a family or person who cared. Instead, she was tortured her entire life and had it cut shortly by being thrown to her death. What a sick bastard.
The cruel pet owner was charged with aggravated animal cruelty and reckless endangerment, and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Centre for a psychiatric evaluation.

Sally Kern Belives Homosexuality Is A Bigger Threat Than Terrorism
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Ms. Sally Kern, she is an Oklahoma Republican lawmaker. Oklahoma is truly a breeding ground for Republicans that despise homosexuality, at least from my experience. Now, don’t get me wrong, not everyone from Oklahoma has these beliefs, but they are far more abundant than I am familiar with, living here in Los Angeles, CA.
Anyway, Kern decided it would be a great way to commemorate 9/11 by explaining that gays and lesbians are worse of a threat than terrorists and terrorism. While she may feel strongly about such issues, I don’t think that was extremely great timing. To be honest, I really don’t agree with the statement at all. If you remember correctly, TERRORISTS flew planes into the twin towers and the Pentagon, killing thousands of innocent civilians on American soil. As far as I know, there have been no such attacks from the gay community, and according to my ‘gay agenda’, none are planned for the future.
Also, AIDS/HIV is NOT a gay disease. I am seriously so sick of this bullshit! Yes, it was more abundant in gay individuals in the 80′s thanks to the fact that sex between two men was still seen as wrong and men were, at the time, forced to be much more secretive about their affairs. In doing so, protection was the least of their concerns, while being able to be intimate with individuals they were sexually and/or emotionally attracted to was their highest priority. Since then, the disease has flourished in, not just gays, but straights alike. Do your fucking research and don’t be so goddamn stupid.

You know if you just look at it in practical terms, which has destroyed and ended the life of more people? Terrorism attack here in America or HIV/AIDS? In the last twenty years, fifteen to twenty years, we’ve had maybe three terrorist attacks on our soil with a little over 5,000 people regrettably losing their lives. In the same time frame, there have been hundreds of thousands who have died because of having AIDS. So which one’s the biggest threat?
And you know, every day our young people, adults too, but especially our young people, are bombarded at school, in movies, in music, on TV, in the mall, in magazines, they’re bombarded with ‘homosexuality is normal and natural.’ It’s something they have to deal with every day. Fortunately we don’t have to deal with a terrorist attack every day, and that’s what I mean.

The reason that we are bombarded with such information in the media, is because the media is trying to give American citizens the right to be who they are and not feel badly about it, to the point of extreme actions. There are many young kids who have been victims of suicide, bullying, drug abuse, etc. based on the simple fact that they don’t feel comfortable letting people know how they truly feel. I’m not saying that all of these cases are due to homosexuality, but there are definitely quite a few. If your religious and moral beliefs make you want to belittle and refuse to acknowledge individuals based on their natural attraction to someone of the same sex, then let that be your own damn opinion; But I do NOT want and WILL not stand by and see your beliefs forced upon my actions thanks to laws that you are working to create. Go fuck yourself Ms. Kern.
Mother Screened Porno For 14-Year-Old Boys
As a 14-year-old boy, the idea that a parent would screen a pornographic video and allow them to watch it while drinking alcohol would be amazing. Unfortunately, this woman was not their mother, not a friend’s mother and was more interested in becoming sexually active with them than just letting them be curious teens.
A South Carolina “soccer mom” who screened an X-rated movie in her home for a group of teenage boys has been booked on a felony charge.
According to cops, Susan Hammond, 47, recently hosted the quartet of 14-year-old boys at her Lexington home. She apparently met the juveniles at youth soccer games (Hammond’s Facebook page describes her as a “Domestic Diva and a WILD hot soccer mom”).
After watching one movie, Hammond allegedly “went to her bedroom and came back with another movie for them to watch that was pornographic,” a Lexington County Sheriff’s Office report notes. “The movie was from start to finish, scenes of people having sex.” While the porno played, Hammonds allegedly gave the boys “shots of liquor.”

Police seized a copy of “The Wedding” from Hammond’s residence and placed the DVD into evidence. Starring Poppy Morgan, the film (distributed by Rude Britannia) purportedly chronicles the British porn star’s actual nuptials and all the related orgy-like activities.
In addition to showing the teens “The Wedding,” Hammond, a mother of two, also allegedly exchanged explicit Facebook messages with one boy. In one exchange, she reportedly asked the boy, “Would you like it if I sucked your cock?”
When confronted by cops, Hammond “completed a written statement implicating herself,” according to an arrest warrant. After turning herself into authorities Monday, Hammond–charged with disseminating obscene material to minors–was released from custody after posting $10,000 bond.
I’m sorry Ms. Hammond, but you are not what these 14-year-old boys are interested in. In fact, you’re not what most guys or men are interested in. What’s pathetic is that you have to scout out children’s soccer games to find candidates for sexual interaction. And on top of that, you have to get them drunk and offer them porn to even present your offer. If you were truly a ‘WILD’ and ‘hot’ soccer mom, I doubt you’d have issues getting men your own age, yet alone, 14-year-old boys whose testosterone is out of this world.
Hopefully your children, the one’s you weren’t attempting to fuck, won’t hold this incident against you. Then again, they’re probably better off without you as an influence.
Man Breaks Into Restaurant To Make Himself A Meal
Hachem Gomez, 20, was apparently so hungry that he bust open a window in a drive thru, crawled inside, and began to prepare himself some food to eat because he was hungry. After he put some tenders into a microwave and got himself something to drink, he began to leave the building when the alarm sounded. Gomez was stunned and did not expect an alarm to go off.
The Mr. Beef & Pizza restaurant in Mount Prospect, Illinois was the location that police were called to. Seeing as Gomez came in through the window, he opened up the front doors to allow officers to come inside. While searching the restaurant, police found the tenders in the microwave and were stunned that Gomez had broken in to eat.
He told the police he woke up hungry about 3am, went to the Mr. Beef & Pizza but when no-one answered after he knocked on the door, he broke in and made himself something to eat.
Although Gomez was arrested for breaking and entering, he did say that he ‘was sorry.’ It’s funny to think that this man went to all this trouble because he was hungry. He could have easily gone to a 24-hour drive thru or at the very least, a grocery store. Wouldn’t wither of these options be much easier to accomplish than what he went through.
Well at least Mr. Gomez will be given meals in jail and won’t ever have to wake up hungry again.
Famed Hand Surgeon Arrested For Domestic Abuse After Throwing His Humanitarian Award At Wife
Michael Brown is (or should I say, was) a famed hand surgeon that was arrested for domestic abuse back in August, 2010. He is well known amongst the community and has many carpel tunnel clinics, the Brown Hand Center, in varying locations: Houston,Phoenix, Dallas, Austin and Las Vegas.
During a dispute with his fourth wife, Rachel Brown, the hand surgeon began to chase his wife and thow multiple items at her, which included vases and the Joanne Herring 2010 Humanitarian of the Year award. The irony of this man receiving a humanitarian award and then throwing it at his wife is amazing. Sadly, there is much more that makes this award seem so odd.
Brown had acknowledged in 2002 that he beat his third wife; Due to this admission, he may be facing a felony. He also had his medical license revoked after testing positive for cocaine in 2006. So far, he sounds like an all around good guy, right?
And more so, this apparent fight started because Mr. Brown was having a late night phone call with another woman. Rachel heard a late night phone call because her adoring husband accidentally dialed his wife and left a voice mail where he can be heard flirting with another woman. Way to go Mr. Brown.
